View Full Version : What class do you suit?
Avooch Dar Fri, 11th May '01, 11:43pm yes i know there is already a question on which you would LIKE to be........but i am interested which one would be the best reflection of your personality, attitude to life and personal skills.
I like playing archer but i would make a much better paladin.........i don't have the ablities with projectile weapons....i have been using an air pistol for years in competitions and seem to be on a permanent loseing streak...........plus i am very kind and always fight for what is good true honest and noble.
Dudette Sat, 12th May '01, 1:18am smart, wise, like watching sabrina the teenage witch ( :D) mage...
jack-of-all-trades Sat, 12th May '01, 2:20am i guess i can be sorta sinister some of the time, sly, ok, just plain ruthless.(some of the time ;))
but i don't ussually end up in the middle of big fights very often, so i think i would end up as a sorcerer.
Punkindrublic Sat, 12th May '01, 3:15am hmmm which one would reflect me........prolly some bard that plays only punk tunes to fight against the coperate fascist rule of amn
ayecapitan Sat, 12th May '01, 3:22am A druid, likely one with less encumberance and more stability... Im guessing, a shapeshifter
Dauntalus Sat, 12th May '01, 4:36am Wizard, probably a necromancer. Then I could force my friends to laugh at my jokes(after I killed them and brought them back).
Lothar Sat, 12th May '01, 7:43am Heh heh, I like that Dauntalus. For me, thief. Its amazing what skills one can pick up during a mispent youth. ;)
The Wise, The Grey Sat, 12th May '01, 10:16am I'm strong, reasonably intelligent and wise. Hearty, and charming when the mood suits me. I think that would place me as a battle cleric of sorts. But, I'd rather wield and axe than a mace or flail/morning star. I think I'm more of a Chaotic Good at heart, so I couldn't be a paladin. Though, the D&D alignment test told me I was a madman (Chaotic Neutral) the last time I took it. Oh well. I may even have some bardish tendencies, I used to gank cigarettes on a regular basis, but I haven't stolen a thing since I was about 14.
Who knows?
joacqin Sat, 12th May '01, 12:48pm Ehh
Right let see i think i would be a sorcerer i think i dont like fights im fairly intelligent and i got a huge ego and a hunger for power ;)
Zorpheus Sat, 12th May '01, 1:04pm As for me, I would be a thief, I think - steal from the rich and give to me.
Daevaeron Dererath Mon, 28th May '01, 11:12pm i think i would have to be a mage, as i am for better at things mentally than physically
Nobleman Mon, 28th May '01, 11:18pm I think I would be a Nobleman. Having lots of things to do. But spends time on nothing :D Just Like my real life. Fun that so many in here thinks of themselves as mages. Even though non of them can cast magic :p
To be honest I would be Town Crier. I think. I AM ACTUALLY QUITE SHY!!!!
Orkrist the Cleaver Tue, 29th May '01, 1:10am I would be a cleric-part scholasticism and part action. That's me.
Lord Praetor Munir Tue, 29th May '01, 3:02pm I think I would be a D/C mage thief coz I do consider myself pretty intelligent and agile...
also.. I do rock climb.. so if they finally implement that CLimb Wall thingy for the bards.. then i might actually fit better as a bard... though I do have qualms bout singing in public
TBurma316 Tue, 29th May '01, 3:07pm Probably a d/c Mage to thief as I lack the motivation and dedication required to excell in magic. Thief because with a little exercise I could climb out of windows pretty sharpish. (just like old times) :D
jester1137 Tue, 29th May '01, 3:09pm Fighter. without a doubt. I just spent sunday in armor smacking people in the head with sticks.
Shrike00 Tue, 29th May '01, 3:36pm While I my favorite character to play is a thief (dc, mc, stright-up) I am not like that in real life. I like to think of myself as sneaky and conniving but in reality I am a bull in a china shop. I wear my heart on my sleeve and have trouble seeing duplicity in others. My intelligence would be high but my wisdom low. If you watched me play flag football you'd know I am slow but strong with good hands (the ultimate possesion reciever if you will).
All that being said what am I .....
a fighter.
Straight-up, not fancy, and I probably use a two-handed sword.
Spyrer the Drow Tue, 29th May '01, 6:17pm A Multiclass Fighter/Swashbuckler
Chaotic Good Alignement
statline:
Strength 14
Dexterity 13
Constitution 15
Intelligence 14
Wisdom 9ish
charisma 4
Proficiencys
Rapier: 2 profs
Dagger: 1 prof
Long Sword: 1 prof
Sword and shield style:1 prof
Single weapon style: 2 profs
Two weapon Style: 1 prof
Reasoning:
I am quite intelligent for my years and quite stout.
Swashbuckler/Fighter:
I am a reasonably good Fencer and i every now and then beat ppl with sticks.
Chaotic good alignement cause i don't really care for rules too much but i try to do the right thing
Profs come from my hobbies
i think my statline is a bit exaggerated, especially charisma, shouldn't be that high
Vicsun Tue, 29th May '01, 6:33pm ...though, the D&D alignment test told me I was a madman (Chaotic Neutral) the last time I took it...
can you plz post a link to that? I've never seen such thing...

[Zantrum] Mon, 18th Jun '01, 4:47pm Well, I would probably be a monk, since I already practice Shaolin Kung Fu. My alignement would be, lawful evil :)
First because I did the test and ended up with it and second because I do follow the law, but I can still be a meanie sometimes... > )
Shrike00 Mon, 18th Jun '01, 6:19pm I am a great shot with a rifle so maybe an archer but I'm not much of an outdoorsman so maybe not. I love to sneak and tinker with small mechanical devices so maybe a thief but I'm 6'3 and 240 lbs which is kinda big to sneak so maybe not. I'm not too subtle and I wear my heart on my sleeve so maybe a straight-forward fighter.
I guess you couold say I'm an multi-class Archer/Thief dual-classed to a fighter. That should make me mediocre at everything and good at nothing. That suits me just fine.
P.S. I left out any magic user becasue I can't even spell Mordenkainen.
Capstone Mon, 18th Jun '01, 6:51pm Science being the real-world equivalent of magic, the class that fits me best is a gnomish mage (perhaps multiclassed with cleric, if that's possible). My abilities are pretty much all mental.
jack-of-all-trades Mon, 18th Jun '01, 8:32pm hmmm...
maybe i would be a MC archer/sorcerer then, cause i am also a good shot with a rifle.
Graz73 Tue, 19th Jun '01, 2:02am I'd be some sort of fighter.
I used to fence, and studied archery, so that's a pretty good start...
I liked the way Spyrer the Drow came up with his stats. It would be cool if there were some tests that you could do that could determine your stats, similar to that allignment test. (the test said I'm neutral good) For instance, how much I can benchpress could help determine my strength rating...
The amount of time you've studied any weapons would also determine what proficiencies you could start with...
Is there anything like that? It'd be fun to see how well I would do in Faerun...

Lokken Tue, 19th Jun '01, 2:43am I would probably be some old mage trying to stop my familiar from smoking all my scrolls of ancient knowledge
Glish Tue, 19th Jun '01, 3:04am I would be chaotic neutral. As for class, im not really sure. Some sort of stoner/druid multiclass.
shadow_thief Tue, 19th Jun '01, 3:24am i donno...i would be good at a thief...i always sneek around the house trying to find a book that im reeding and then go hide in the bathroom until i hear my parents sigh and do the chores for me and they dont even hear me tiptoeing around so im good in stealth. i also no how to open locked doors that dont require a like the superintendent keys of the sorts. but i would like to be an archer. im...uh...kinda good at the bow(dudette, dont take my pride!) but...sigh...im not strong but i have a keen eye that has potential. i think i would be chaotic good(dudette says so) too.
Anhur Tue, 19th Jun '01, 3:56am I suppose I would be most suitable as a Paladin. Healer and Fighter inspired by the cause of nobility and belief in bettering humanity.
Ahh, yes...
- Anhur
Sir Belisarius Tue, 19th Jun '01, 4:15am Although I play a paladin, I'm not one IRL...Maybe it's an ideal I would aspire to, but I don't think I could cut it in reality.
I think I would be better suited as a bard. I've always thought of myself as a jack of all trades kind of guy. Not excelling in anything, but pretty decent and well rounded in most things.
TIN_MAN Tue, 19th Jun '01, 12:15pm If I analize my alignment correctly I would fit to the role of the druid. I think I prefer balance in everything, also the animals don't fear me and I like them plus it can make me very angry if someone makes harm to nature. I was a green peace fan for years too.
shadow_thief Wed, 20th Jun '01, 1:14am hippies are kool! they stopped WW2 in 1949. and i like nature just not druids. particularily jaheira. shes annoying.
Trunculo Wed, 20th Jun '01, 3:22pm And here I was thinking it was the A-bombs we dropped on Japan in 1945 that ended the war. Weird, apparently we had to wait around another four years to drop some hippies on someone. The things one learns on the internet...
Back to the topic. I suppose if I were dropped into a BGII kind of place, I'd fit in well as an archer. As a bowhunter, I make my own arrows and have pretty good stealth in the woods. I'm all the time spotting other hunters out there without being seen myself. My alignment (chaotic good, I'd imagine) works well with the class.
Serora Wed, 20th Jun '01, 3:37pm I'd be a bard, because I play about a dozen instruments. An I have that sort of bard-like charm about me. (or so I'm told) ;)
Mathetais Wed, 20th Jun '01, 4:12pm Bel the Bard???? Never saw that coming! The singing, pick-pocket lawyer!
IRL, I'd be dead in a medieval setting. Appendix ruptured when I was 9. Plus, I can't see the big "E" on they eye chart (very bad eys), so any career as an archer would be null & void!
All that aside: I'm best suited to the cleric class (didn't see that coming, did ya!) I usually play a paladin or a ranger (both fit my picture of the ideal hero).
Thunderhammer Wed, 20th Jun '01, 4:33pm That's easy. Dual classed fighter/magic-user with a neutral good alignment. I thought about that when I first started playing AD&D back in 1981. It has only changed slightly over the years.
shadow_thief Fri, 22nd Jun '01, 2:33am AD&D was here in 1981?! i knew that it was old...but not THAT old. but anyways...i like thieves a lot! the most promising character.
Lestatpoet Fri, 22nd Jun '01, 3:24am Started playing around a big table at the local college rec center in these big "pipe smoking" chairs in 1980. G1-G3, Those two letters and two numbers definitely age me.
Oh, on the actual topic, definitely barbarian, my demolition skills in working on my house definitely show I would have a talent.
