View Full Version : My BG2 expansion wishlist
Elverath Mon, 13th Nov '00, 6:49pm 1. a helluvalot more NPC's to recruit.
2. more legendary weapons.
3. bard weapon specialization for blade and skald.
4. more ranger/paladin abilities.
5. more good chainmail and splintmail armor.
6. BIGGY!!! - ability to board ships by paying or whatever, and actually travel on the ship with the captain and crew. eat yer rations, play cards in the deck. get in the crows nest...fight pirates and sea serphents etc. get boarded by enemies. mages can fling fireballs and stuff at enemy ships. better looking water maps, with jutting rocks, little islands, dolphins...whales...
6. BIGGY # 2- ability to go to other cities by merchant caravan, ship, horse, or foot. cities such as calimshan, waterdeep, and luskan. maybe even evermeet.
i know 5 and 6 are too huge to include in a little expansion pack. but if you included these things in a possible BG3, your finances will go up the roof bioware. you already got one customer.
Blackthorne TA Mon, 13th Nov '00, 6:53pm Uh... Why did you start a NEW topic on this? One was started today just a little while ago...
Elverath Mon, 13th Nov '00, 7:26pm because if i start my own, it will be more noticed
plus i couldnt find the other one
Taluntain Mon, 13th Nov '00, 7:46pm ROTFL...
Oh yeah, now that's a very good excuse.
As far as my wish list goes, it's really short.
A FREAKING PATCH ALREADY!!!
I ALWAYS, and I mean that, press the q button at like two minute intervals if I'm wandering around.
But then I spent like 15 minutes rearranging my stuff, selling what I didn't need, buying something etc.
Fine. I walk to the door of the mart, and BOOM. Crash to desktop without a save.
Don't ask me how pissed I was. Especially since when I played the beta it didn't crash on me ONCE. Just lucky back then I guess.
Oh yeah. QUICK LOAD BUTTON TOO!!
God it's annying pressing L all the time. Then I go like, oh yeah when nothing happens. One of the best options in IWD and they don't implement it. Go figure.
Blackthorne TA Mon, 13th Nov '00, 8:16pm Taluntain - That's a tough one! I often spend quite a bit of time rearranging/selling/buying/identifying stuff! Luckily I've never had it crash right afterwards. Actually, I've had very few crashes or other problems; still I've only put nonessential stuff in the bag of holding due to the problems I've heard with it...
Neverworlder Mon, 13th Nov '00, 8:46pm My shi...er, I mean WISH list:
1) (All Together Now): More NPCs! There should be an NPC for every kit, so that you can explore all your interests without having to play the game ten different times. I want to play a Sorcerer, Jester, Archer, Avenger, Monk, Kensai, etc., but I don't want to play the game until I'm 101.
2) OR allow you to run/create from three to all six PCs.
3) More portraits and soundsets. Talk about disappointing!
4) Key rings.
5) Something that allows you to load the QuickSave game with one button. (Is that the Quickload feature Taluntain is talking about? Well, then that.)
6) Complete information in instruction manual. How many spells do Sorcerers get at 1st level? Who knows. What are the details of each kit? Beats me. What's the non-proficiency penalty for a Thief? Or the saving throw increases for a Fighter? Or the THAC0 chart for a Druid? Dunno. The instruction manual should have ALL of the pertinent information. Often, you have to initiate a new game to find out what a Swashbuckler does or to answer other similar questions. (Or go online.)
7) More kits. There's always room for a few more kits. They are a great addition.
8) Something completely different. Maybe a "new" race (Centaur, Modron, Bullywug, Kobold-Halfling) or class/kit (Shaman, Mystic, Telepath, Witch) that hasn't been used before. A little spice couldn't hurt.
Palpatine Mon, 13th Nov '00, 11:23pm Taluntain: you can set a quick load button with the bgconfig program. goto the hot key page, it's under misc commands. they added that option to infinity in tosc.
Shura Tue, 14th Nov '00, 12:21am They're too many rangers and clerics in BG2, anybody noticed?
Vermillion Tue, 14th Nov '00, 5:51am Probably because of the healing spells. I've noticed i'm going through a lot just now, and the rangers being able to help out with them have a good help. Lets me get that little bit extra out of the party before we have to rest.
Crawl Tue, 14th Nov '00, 7:38am I want more evil NPCs. Even when I started an evil game, I couldn't start all by myself(not that I did when I played good either, but...). Anyway, at least give me the option.
And if we get more NPCs, give them more intelligent weapon specialization. I don't want 5 points in the axe or the points so spread out in a lot of weapons that I'm wondering what the hell they were thinking.
Please give me some decent armor for a fighter mage. I'm about to start a wizard slayer Dual mage. I drooled at the thought of creating a great fighter mage in BG2, and the best I can get is elven chain +1. Come on. There has to be something better.
I could go on and on, but three wishes is enough. Maybe I can get one answered :)
Reya Tue, 14th Nov '00, 7:35pm More villages to visit, better and more useful stronghold quests, more legendary/unique items, basically more of everything (except trolls, I HATE trolls!) that shouldn't be too hard, typical add on stuff...now to the important stuff, another male love interest...wait, did I say important? what I'd really like is a dragon all of my own to ride into battle, and whilst they're at it I want to FLY, make Aerie jealous ;)
Taluntain Tue, 14th Nov '00, 10:33pm Palpatine, thanks for the tip.
Kinda strange I didn't notice it. Heh.
Well it'll sure come in handy now.
Septic Yogurt Tue, 14th Nov '00, 10:54pm I agree with Neverworlder, the BG 2 manual (although big for a manual) is still not comprehensive enough, the BG manual was much better, and the PDF maunal that installs from the disc is IDENTICAL, I thought it would have more stuff in it.
