Im having trouble playing BG2 the game keeps crashing. When i tried to enter the circus tent right after irenicus's dungeon it starts to load and then i get a black screen. Nothing else happens can anybody help me ?

i have an 800mhz athlon thunderbird with a asus a7v motherboard and a geforce2 mx.

have you tried to reinstall the game? that usualy works, unless of course that CD is damaged. the circus area is on CD 2 in case you want to see if it's scratched. and if you have the space, you may want to do the full install as well if you haven't already.


people tend to blame a game for crashes. they may say it's buggy, which BG2 is but i find that it is most likely the O.S. i had to reinstall Windows 98 (2nd Edition) because i was having odd problems like not being able to shut down my PC properly to name one, and BG2 did crash on me quite a few times as well. it's been about 3 months since i reinstalled Win 98 and i haven't had a single problem while playing BG2 since then.

i have done a full install and tried to reinstall it and the cd's isnt scratched and ive reinstalled win98se 1-2 weeks ago.

Damn.... well maybe that area is corrupted internaly and the CD is not physicaly damaged. well unfortunatly the only other advice i can offer is to exchange the game for a new one. hopefully somebody else on the board can offer a better solution.
