So, some time ago, i decided to play Baldur's Gate 2 again after break.I start installing it again (i had uninstalled it when i stopped playing last time), and it goes well, asks another disc, i put it in.Then it asks third disc, i thought it was weird, but put it in anyway.Few secs later it asks fourth disc, and then FIFTH, i ran out of discs :( , and pressed cancel.Theni try to install again, and put disc 1. in.It starts acting like i would have installed
it already. I press play, nothing happens.I press uninstal, nothing happens.I go to look files in disc, and use setup, it runs, but no change to game condition.I even deleted Its files from Program Files-folder, NO CHANGE.Anybody can help?I could playit on another comp, but i want use my BG1-character :sosad: .Can anyone help?

Bioware addresses this on their support site; try taking a look at their suggestions (http://www.bioware.com/games/shadows_amn/support/known_issues/#install) and see if anything there helps.

I don't know what the problem with disc five is, but I''ve heard of people having this kind of problem with others games.

As for being able to reinstall the game, the state of the autorun menu (ie whether you can press "play" or "install") has nothing to do with the folder and the game files itself, but is set by a registry key. In order to "reset" the menu after deleting the game folder, you need to delete all keys associated with BG2. There's several programs on the Internet that allow you to delete all keys associated with a particular installation, so you don't accidentally delete the wrong key.

Now that I think of it, you don't need to go that far. Why not try running the installation executable directly from the CD, without going through the autorun menu? It should be on disc 1, probably called setup.exe or some such. If for some reason that doesn't work, you might want to consider the key deletion I suggested above.

EDIT: Whoops, CamDawg posted his reply while I was still typing mine... which makes this rant rather obsolete.

I ran setup, no chage.Oh, maybe i just play with another computer and use SK to make illusion of continuing.maybe that key-deleter-internet thingy would work, but this computer with problems has no internet

Well if you can't get a program to delete the registry keys then you could do it manually by following the procedure listed here:

http://www.bioware.com/games/shadows_amn/support/known_issues/#uninstall

Then install the game again and follow the suggestions given by Bioware and see if it works.

Goli, which setup are you running, the one on the CD or the one in the game folder? And what do you mean by "no change"? The program doesn't run at all? It runs but doesn't install the game? Could you be more specific about this bit?
