Have all the kits of rangers a stronghold and what stronghold? In your "guide to kits" you say archer and archer-ranger are different kit-class?Drizzt will be beastmaster cause have the black panther but a beastmaster can't have schimitars.
Thanx

Drizzt isn't a really good example to the rules...
Everyone gets a stronghold, based on your base class, i.e. fighter, wizard, cleric or rogue.

You could check out the BGChronicles-site. They have great BG2-info...

Wow drizzt how can you call yourself that? you know so little of drizzt. he is a normal (no kits) ranger, the panther is a magical beast which is called upon and is therefore not a follower animal there in turn making him NOT a beastmaster. Beastmasters get follower animals. Guenhwyvar
is a magical beast and doesnt have control over who she serves (its whoever has the figurine) Why dont you read the drizzt books again, look up on some D&D rules and THEN call yourself drizzt Do'urden on a board :)

Dude. Go ahead. Make your ranger named Drizzt and go through the whole game with him. You'll have a great little surprise at the end.

SPOILER for all those who don't want to try it themselves...

When the inevitable cameo from Drizzt and his famous party happens at the end, if your character is named Drizzt or Drizzt Do'Urden, he gets pissed off and yells at you for stealing his name, and his party attacks you. *Grin*

That might just inspire me to play through the game as Drizzt just to see that happen.

Well, he's not an archer, nor a stalker, and he's definitely not a Beastmaster...
So, simple. He's a Ranger, Ranger. Don't forget that in choosing a kit you can also choose to have the ever-popular ordinary ranger.

But through some sources (I think it was a book or site somewhere...?)I also heard he's part Barbarian and fighter, and still some claim him to be part Drow mage. (since he was also taught the dark arts like the dark orb or what-you-might-call-it and levitation)
One thing's for sure though... He registers as a Ranger-Ranger in SoA, so I guess that's that.

Drizzt is a Ranger, just a Ranger. His character came out with the Crystal Shard book (part of the Icewind Dale trilogy) shortly after the Forgotten Realms was released as an AD&D product. There were no such things as 'kits' in that era of the game.

In the 3rd edition Drizzt is as follows

fighter 10/barbarian 1/ ranger of Mielekki 5

So i think it's safe to assume that you don't need a kit to be like him;)

Would type in all his information, but i'm just about to start playing D&D:D
