this is the best rpg ive ever played. either im an idiot or im a moron. im using nalia as my mage. i memorize scrolls into her book but when i go to cast a spell during battle from her interface at the bottom the spells are all dark brown and not usable??? ive gotten every other aspect of the game except for this one. i still have to lug aroung scrolls and cast them from there using quick item.

Most probably, the cause of this is that your mage is wearing armor (which dual or multi-classed mages can do). To cast spells, remover the armour.
