I suppose more people have used the Sunray spell from Daystar on Vampires but I bet no one had such good results with it as I had:

View Full Version : Sunray, the Buggy Vampire Slayer (cool bug) Headbanger Sun, 13th Jan '02, 12:14pm I suppose more people have used the Sunray spell from Daystar on Vampires but I bet no one had such good results with it as I had: http://home.hetnet.nl/~ma1rnix/bug.jpg Taluntain Sun, 13th Jan '02, 12:33pm No, that's standard. As per the spell's description, there's a chance of destroying the target. Over 1000 damage kinda does that. Last time I saw it, it did 1072 damage for me. Headbanger Sun, 13th Jan '02, 12:49pm AH, but why then wasn't Lassal destroyed :( I suppose because he has a part in the game later so he cannot be destroyed? Faragon Sun, 13th Jan '02, 1:19pm hehe, yeah, I once had mine with 1068dmg damage... I say ditch Sarevok and his puny 200dmg hits :p strange_machine Sun, 13th Jan '02, 4:39pm Faragon sunray is wicked against undead but sarevok is dealing 200 damage of physical power!!!! So don't ditch the man, hes wicked cool ;) [This message has been edited by strange_machine (edited January 13, 2002).] total Sun, 13th Jan '02, 5:07pm Can you use it to kill shadow dragon? Lord Sarevok Sun, 13th Jan '02, 5:41pm You can use it against anyone, undead or otherwise. But I'm not sure if the Shadow Dragon is undead... Earl Grey Sun, 13th Jan '02, 7:50pm The 1,000+ damage is how the spell handles when undead fails the save. Failing save in this case means the undead should die and for some reason this is how they made sure it dies. Headbanger Sun, 13th Jan '02, 10:00pm I know, for it is above the Max amount of hitpoints any creature in the BG-saga has.... You must with Sunray as undead make a save vs. death or be destroyed... For Bioware, 1050 damage means Destroyed.... they should have done that a different way... for Lassal cannot die in this part of the game. Shadow-dragon is no undead. Ramses Sun, 13th Jan '02, 10:16pm Interesting. You ask a question or stamp a bug. Later you answer it yourself. Anyhow the spell should be diffent? How? Should it say that It destroys undead except Lassal when he is at the docks district? Or should we settle with the fact that the game has no human DM. Hence, in certain places the game is out of reality for a greater good. The episode with Lassal is to build up an enemy character. A swift entrance threatening the group. Then a swift exit. You have to grow a hatred of Lassal. Only by making appearence from time to time, the story writers can acheive that. Each time he appears the player has a chance, however remote it may seem, to kill him. The chance increase with each time you play. And You have played a lot, right? Lord Sarevok Sun, 13th Jan '02, 10:54pm I agree, Lassal is(was :D) a bastard. What makes him even more annyoing is the fact that he only lasts about 2 seconds when you face him the final time. Oh well, I guess Bohdi was the real "boss" of that quest, but she only lasted a few seconds longer than her cronie. Faragon Mon, 14th Jan '02, 10:24am >Faragon sunray is wicked against undead but sarevok is dealing 200 damage of physical power!!!! So don't ditch the man, hes wicked cool I know that, I was just joking, hence the :D :) Far. They're all running around pooped out!!! Not good ;) Headbanger Tue, 15th Jan '02, 6:05pm Anyhow the spell should be diffent? How? Should it say that it destroys undead except Lassal when he is at the docks district? Ramses, I sought for a confirmation of what I suspected. To answer your question, people that cannot be destroyed for they have to come back later in the game should be immune to desintegration. The table shouldn't show: 20183902839074 damage, but they should just have their saves against instant death at 100 percent so they would not be affected by that part of the spell. For Lassal doesn't get so much damage, else he wouldn't survive. Math, I talked to Aran after I came back tired from Windspear hills where I killed Firkraag... For it was almost midnght and I had to meet Mook at midnight too, I decided to do this quests first (it's a small quest) before going to sleep in my Guildhall) else I had to wait a whole day before I could do this quest.. and I didn't had much to do in the city anymore so then it would be a long day. StressedE Tue, 15th Jan '02, 9:34pm If his saves vs death would eb at full, he wouldn't get all that damage :( I thought you can't kill vampires unless you stake them, so I don't see the problem. One bug I'd like to mention doh. I was a level I don't know how high cleric and I turned the vamp in spellhold undead for his hand. After that the comp ensures you cant attack him by taking control away from you. BUT you can still turn undead. If you do this the game will hang so be carefull to turn it off |
