I have started the game in multiplayer mode and created three characters on my own. The only problem is that whenever I load I have to rearrange my party.. Any ideas on how I might solve this problem (if possible)

And if it will have any effects at all on the game

How about that DragonSlaer21: MP games are more complex than single player games ;) - why donīt you simply copy them from the mp-save-folder to your save-folder?

Did it yeasterday.
Can't begin to describe the advantages in creating your own party + I made only three so I still get to have minsc in the party....

The only downsides to doing this are:

1) Fewer interactions between the characters

2) Unless you constantly pause the game, you have to heavily rely on the AI. I couldn't control more than 3 people (especially spell-casters) without auto-pause.

I kind of like having to control what every party member is doing.
That's just my playing style..

You can set the fighting style, under the Customize menu. I think this works on the main character as well, although I have always controlled him myself. Also if you want the benefits of both, you could use Shadowkeeper to change the race/class/stats or whatever of NPCs to those of PCs you have created.

I was going to do this after my first time through, but, which mp-mode do i go to?
(and do i have to be connected to the internet also?)

No you do not have to be connected to the internet to play multiplayer with yourself. I use the TCP/IP option to do that. Mplayer connects you to the site (you have to register at http://www.mplayer.com )to play with others.

You DON'T have to register with MPlayer to play with others. Just go for a direct TCP/IP link by typing in the IP address of the host machine you wish to link to. Alternatively, supply your IP to others wishing to join your machine if you are hosting.

Far less hassle and no middle man involved.

Downloaded the shadowkeeper program and swapped my self created magician for Edwin.
But I am still going to keep my thief as I think there are no really good thieves in the game

You're correct on the lack of decent thieves.

The scripts, AI on/off and party formations stay at whatever they were set to upon starting the game......meaning that you will have to change them to your desires on every new start up.
