the darkest day is a mod for bg2 SOA with 9 new npcs(some of them are from bg1)new areas and quests, from the screenshots it looks like you can go to icewind dale and beregost(and hopefully the rest of the sword coast)

i dont think its compatible with TOB though:(

Well done Deano99. This should be a landmark for us BG2 abusers :)

hey,
I know this wont ever happen, but I think tal should open up a new forum for BG2 with TDD installed, as it will be as different from SOA as TOB is.

if install it, will it corrupt any games i have saved already? or do i have to start a new one?

Icing Death

P.S. with TDD will you have to do the BG1 quests? or are there new ones?

is Elminister back?

Does this mean i will have to uninstall TOB?

Not that it matters, cause i am going through SOA again...

are they still planing on putting the disc out?

Thu, 18th Oct '01, 2:11am
Why isn't it compatible with ToB? and why is it so huge!?! only those rich bastards with cable are going to be able to download it.

Gonzago
Thu, 18th Oct '01, 4:16am
You don't have to download it. You can shell out the whopping nine bucks for a cd, if you can't be bothered with the download time..

And if it's not ToB compatible, it soon will be.

If it makes any of you feel any better, even using the university connection, because I am too cheap to pay for the GameSpy private server, it will still take me 2 hours plus to download TDD... BUt, as the Lerrahud solo shows, I have perseverance if not brains....downloading... downlaoding... downloading... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Why TDD can't be cut to seperate zip files?

StressedE
Thu, 18th Oct '01, 8:27am
Not only cable.
People with T3 or ADSL can download it too.
Not me, I can only download it with 175KB/s
(that's my current download speed)
This means I still have to be downloading the next 25 mins

Deano99
Thu, 18th Oct '01, 11:10am
it can't be put in seperate ZIP files because of the way the whole MOD is packaged. It is packed into one Nullsoft installer, so they can't do anything about it.

It will be appearing on a CD to buy, and the ToB patch will be coming very shortly. :D

it is even going to be on the front of several PC Magazines, but it is first released on PCZoneUK on the Christams issue (released on Nov 19th i believe).

so there are plenty of ways to get it. I know plenty of people who are on a 56k and getting it... they are completely loony, but that isn't the point... :D

I used my 8kb\sec line to download The Darkest day. It took me 14 hours... Am I looney? =D

Sentry

I downloaded about 4GB per month with 8kB/s line.
Now I need a new HDD :)

I will download TDD but I won't try it yet, because I have to finish BG1 first.

If anyone tries it please post your oppinions.. I'm really interested how it's like.

Deano99

i have just downloaded it...

i haven't had a chance to mess with it yet, but it seems that there is gonna be a huge replay value just from the Kits.

hehe... 75 might have been slight overkill... :D

i'll give you my first reactions guys as soon as possible! ;)

if you found a bug i suggest you post it on the TDD Bug Forum right away!
http://www.teambg.net/tdd

that's what it's there for!

[Um Deano, it's not necessary to keep posting the same link more than once in the thread; everyone can see it up above... - BTA]

go to 3ddownloads.com, they have it there, and when you click on download the page might say: cannot be displayed, it happenned to me, but after a few times clicking download it worked, that happens because there are too many anonymous users online i think

well people, i am about 100 megs into my download with my 56k connection, if you have a slow modem like me, and still want it then i suggest that you get a download manager (look on the downloads page mentioned above, i have DAP, v good!), with one of these you can download a lot faster, and if you don't want to leave your connection on, then you can stop and resume the download later. Do I really have to uninstall TOB ?

[This message has been edited by Spudsquisher (edited October 20, 2001).]

ok, when is that gonna be out?

There's been a CD version there from the start.

You can pay nine bucks and have them mail it to you on CD. You have a link Order CD-ROM on the site - how on Earth could you miss that?

So, as mentioned above, TDD will appear (is that in its full form?) on a PCZone cover CD some time in November. Will this version include ToB patch or is that coming later?
(really looking forward to this):D

man, most kits suck!

Wed, 24th Oct '01, 2:49pm
Hehe. Don't you think you are being a bit harsh Kevlar. From reading the descriptions I wouldn't say any of them suck, but there are certainly ones that appeal to me and others that definately don't. There are so many though, let's hope it isn't a quality vs. quantity issue.

well, my download finished last night! whoo hoo! bugbears are hard! :( The new kits are interesting, i still have to download the patch, but don't have time right now - one major thing I have noted is the map, the whole outside bit of the map is changed! I am going to get sooo lost!

A question do I pose to thee my brethren:book:

TDD is not compatible with ToB so I'll have to uninstall it and just have SoA.
Now if I finish SoA and TDD and after that install ToB on top of it,would there be a problem?

(...i know such questions are better answered at teambg or tdd forums but this is a rather long tdd thread and the mentioned above sites are down right now)

Deano99

of course there will be problems

you can't have TDD and ToB installed together, plain and simple.

ummm hi,
i have a couple of questions about TDD i have no answers to because their site is still down (as far as i know).
1.- Can i get the patched version on cd? or only the first version? (i have slow 56k...)
2.-if i install it (i have SoA without ToB installed) will it cause issues with any current games?
thanks

hmmmmm....

I wonder if savegames from the current version of TDD will be compatible with ToB after that the ToB patch is installed.

Judgemat,

i have a couple of questions about TDD i have no answers to because their site is still down (as far as i know).
That's right, their provider went bankrupt... They'll be online again at the beginning of next week. :)

1.- Can i get the patched version on cd? or only the first version? (i have slow 56k...)
They will put the most recent version of the game on the CD-ROM; they're still waiting a few weeks I believe with creating those CD's.
2.-if i install it (i have SoA without ToB installed) will it cause issues with any current games?
Nope, none. But keep in mind you need to start a new game in order to enjoy the new Darkest Day levels. :)
