In the Deirex's tower quest how do i defeat him,(i searched and didnt find any results) on my way i have slaughtered every drow in sight!!

and during this quest the server took control of all my charactors and put me outside the building, has anyone else encountered this?

IIRC just after you do the egg switch, and you head back to tell Phaere, you'll meet a man with a rope for sale. I didn't think you could get inside the tower without the rope, but you didn't mention having it.

The first time you go into the tower with the rope you'll be dimension doored to meet with *someone*. He'll explain a devious plot and your part in it and then teleport you back outside the tower. (If you didn't have the rope, mebbe your computer jumped you forward to this point.)

You enter the tower, fight Deirex--not a particularly hard lich, steal his treasure, and get dimension doored away a second time. Talk with *someone* again. Get teleported out again.
Resume pillaging.

I hope that answers your question. In your post it seemed that you had jumped in without the rope.

If you're high enough level hit him with a Time Stop then pound him into the ground before the spell ends. If you haven't got Time Stop just use the usual Lich-fighting spells on him. By that stage in the game he shouldn't really be causing you that many problems.

Time stop's level 9, cheater. Only way to cast it is from scroll (so high level is useless...).

You can cast Time Stop without a scroll, just the same way as you can with every other 9th Level spell.

Tanks guys, ive since defeated lich-man and quite frankly thought the treasure was pathetic.

I did have the rope by the way and in the message block(when the glitch occured) it said "sever taken control of character" for all of them and then i was out side fully healed, and with all my spells back, weird huh?! :D

Make sure to pillage the upstairs of the tower as well!
