I need some advice with killing the iron golem in the d'Arnise hold.
I used invisibility to get to the flail, so that's not the problem. I would just like to know if there is some good strategy i can use against this bastard, i really wanna see him dead. I have a very strong half-orc fighter, Anomen, Minsc, Jaheira, Yoshimo, and Nalia. Could anyone please give me some advice here?

From the D&D 2nd Edition rules :
The iron golem has a strength of 24 for the purposes of lifting, throwing or breaking objects. The iron golem is immune to any weapon, except those of +3 or better enchantment. Magical electrical attacks will slow it for 3 rounds, and magical fire attacks actually repair 1 hit point of damage for each hit die of damage it would have caused. Once every 7 rounds, beginning either the first or second round of combat, the iron golem breathes out a cloud of poisonous gas. It does this automatically, with no regard to the effects it might have.

So try +3 weapons only !!!! Good Luck.

Put the Flail of Ages together and have your Half-Orc Barbarian weild it.

Cast Protection from Evil 10' Radius, Bless, Chaotic Commands, Defensive Harmony, Chant, Holy Smite, Champions Strength, Greater Malison, Protection from Normal Weapons, Doom all on your main fighter character.

Have potions of Extra Healing, Healing, use an Oil of Speed, Potion of Armor, and Fire Giant Potion, have Jaheira and Anomen behind this character throwing cure wounds spells and neutralize poison and go in for the kill.

This is how I killed the Adamantite Golem, which wasn't much of a battle once I went in with all the above listed. The Iron Golem you face is even weaker than the Adamntite Golem.

Since that he can't follow you after you've left the room, you can also try using spells like Lower Resist (Pierce Magic also lowers magic resistance, however, Lower Resist is more efficient), draining his resistance with at least 60%. After that, it's only to assault the golem with the spells you can think of. Although this is kinda cheap, you may want to walk into the room with him, and then run in circles around the golem or have a fighter taking the hits for your mage otherwise.
