where do they come from? are they all individualy made? or are there like, golem factorys? or can golems make more golems?

High level wizards (usually archmages) make them. No other way. They are magical constructs, made solely to serve the wizard who makes them. In real D&D, making any sort of golem takes a lot of XP, money and power. Just having one golem is quite a feat. The amount you see during the course of the game (BG2) is totally unrealistic, especially since they are all supposed to be created by Irenicus. Well, most of them. It'd take a single mage more than a millenia to create so many.

Pratchett's golems have really little in common with D&D ones. Apart from the humanoid shape and that one of tastes they come in is clay...

you can actually watch a golem being completed in one of the Cabins of the Umar Hills...

yeah...but then it goes nuts an you have to kill it...shame really, the wizard must have spent ages making it and you have to go and kill it...
