I have tried to meet Beelo at different places, that is in the Slum, at Trademeet and other places, but when he comes home there is no mention of her. He doesn't complain about not seeing her either, and it didn't help to spend so much time outside the city that the game had to reload the city once we got there. What do I do? Also, since I am only a simple gamer with no insights in remaking stuff I just have to ask, is it free to download a patch or expansion from this site and where do I do it?

Jan has only one quest pertaining to him, and a messenger will come to inform him to return home asap to see his ex whose daughter is ill. And afaik his ex's name isn't Beelo.

Try going back to his house in the Slums.

The messenger's name is Beelo right? Well, he came and told Jan to go home to his house in the slums, but when we got there there was no Lissa and Ma Jensen or Gerhardt didn't mention her at all. I guess this is just one of those bugs you have to live with, I so wish that computers would work properly at all times.

Did you go upstairs? IF you did and Lissa wasn't there then I can't help you. :(

The only thing I can think of is that when I told Jan I'd catch up with him, he disappeared and there was no way to continue the quest (I think Lissa was there but Jan wasn't) but that doesn't sound like what happened to you

There are a couple of gnomes that when you talk to them they will give Jan a hard time about not going home and seeing his mother often enough. The gnome that starts his quest is the one that had the misunderstanding with the circus about the elephant. If you talked to him and can't find Lissa then you have to reload. This is one of the few timed quests but I thought that the timer didn't start until Jan met Lissa.
