It's been a while since I regularly played D&D, well before the Third Edition came out. What kind of undead is Uncle Lester exactly? He's way too intelligent to be a zombie, but he doesn't have the powers of a vampire. Is he a ghoul like Korax in BG1? I didn't think ghouls were intelligent like Korax was.

Likely a revenant, though he doesn't have the stats for it in-game.

Uncle Lester fits the term quite nicely, he comes back from the grave to terrorize his nephew. That he doesn't have the stats might be because these were possibly tweaked for the RP experience.

His .cre file says he's a ghoul, though he uses the zombie animation.

Is "annoying" a monster type?

people always say "oh no zombies rising from the grave!" its never ghouls or revenants.

but i could of been thinking that because like bombur said, he uses the zombie's animation.

I never thought of him as a zombie or ghoul. Reverant or some special ghost type. The nephew deserved to be terrorized.

And if Felinoid says he is a reverant I'll abide by our 2e expert's opinion. BG did tweak things for various reasons.
