Why is he called a cavalier when there is no horse in the game when the meaning of cavalier means a mounted warrior.

Why is there no horses full stop.

[So you've mastered full stop, can you include questionmarks where applicable from now on?] -Tal

There are horses in SoA full stop. (Slums)

The Kit name means nothing - for example Inquisitors in SoA don't burn witches nor torture innocents.

yes they do. Keldorn and vironica for instance.

I think he was referring to the Spanish Inquisiston. And that had more to do with religon than race, although some race was involved....

Yeah speed is an issue horses could improve not to mention combat rolls, but they are in AD&D which this game is based on. Sorry about pervious spelling im a 14 year old person give me a break.

the reason there are no horseback riders is because it is too difficult to include in an Infinity Engine game.

plus i don't think the kits mean all that much to be honest. Just a different way of getting more powerful characters without editing your stats.

I suppose riding horse is difficult to put into the game. In NWN there will be horses I suppose. Cavliers often use horses but without a horse they are also good fighters.

Maybe they could give you some penalties for using sertain weapons. I can't imagine that using a two-handed weapon like Carsomyr would be that easy while riding horse...;)

Maybe all ridable horses have gotten a disease in Amn. Thats why all the guards are walking so funny, they are used to ride.

When riding a horse, you shouldn't fight with a Sword but of course with a Lance...

I am why Ragusa haven't replied yet. He is the greatest Cavelier-fan that we have on this boards :)

Headbanger ... you forget that Ragusa loves halfling caveliers. The thought of a great warhorse has probably scared the daylights out of him! ;)

Sorry Ragusa...couldn't resist. I have a picture in my head of a dozen halfling squires learning to joust. They are all riding a carosel and holding yard sticks. The image has me falling out of my chair laughing.

Until Ragusa gets his wand of dimunitation so that he can put the world in perspective ... PEACE.

Why a cavalier ? A cavalier because there is evil like dragons and demons that endanger Faerun - and as long as there is this evil in Faerun cavaliers will be needed urgently. They uphold justice, law, rightousness and goodness wherever they walk and evil flees their aura of purity - what can be better than a cavalier ?

I don't have any problems with cavaliers in SoA - I only used one-handed weapons on mine anyway (I don't need Carsomyr) and so I don't face the problem of using a two-handed weapon on a horse back - if I had a horse .... and would be tall enough to ride it .... actually I'd be perfectly happy with a warpony or a wardog. Who needs horses anyway ??!

Halflings can only use ponys Ragusa. In D&D some two handed weapons could be used on horseback, others like a large longbow could only be used if dismounted.
