Best party? who cares? Lets find the one that provides the most laughs. I think that the NPC party with the most comedic potential would be:

Minsc (wielding lilacor, of course)
Edwin
Korgan
Jan

and either Haer'Dalis or Anomen. Anomen isn't that funny, but the others need someone to make fun of.

Throw in a PC Jester Bard kit, and you're set.

If they don't all kill each other, I expect infinite laughs!

Aerie and Haer'Dalis have quite an amusing 'fling', if you will. :D

It's high time more people played for laughs instead of glory and power tripping.

Jan Janson has to be the master in this area - he manages to annoy just about everybody. I especially loved his story to Anomen about "Ano - the stupid Orc".

I also save regularly so I can take some of the more amusing dialogue options. They usually lead to bloodshed, but I have a good laugh then reload and play "properly" for a bit longer. I love winding Jahera and Anomen up.

You know what was funny?
When Jan tells the anecdote about finding Oghma (god of knowledge) in his backyard.

Edwin, Viconia, Minsc put together is like the three stooges. There's a scuffle every area you enter. Plus, there's a few places (eyeless cult) where Minsc is mouthing off about boots-n-backsides and blows it.

The Npc interactions are one of the element which make BG2 so enjoyable. BG1 had a few, but not near as often or lengthy as BG2. Everyone I've heard from comes away with one quote/exchange between Npc's that made them laugh.

The main player has to be funny to :)

I agree, StressedE. I was thinking of a jester bard kit for the PC, and maybe customizing his sound set. Any suggestions?

The "Murrays" sound set is really funny.
I also like the Monty Python one.
