View Full Version : Evil Classes
Buddas Hand Wed, 1st May '02, 8:01am I think there should be some classes that are Evil Allingment only and have some sort of special powers/weapons. For example a mage who sucks at casting spells but can transfrom himself into a demon(not slayer) or a Torturer type person. Your thoughts?
Dralend Wed, 1st May '02, 12:06pm I never play evil - although even paladins lapse into thievery now and again :D
Your ideas sound good. A handy special ability would be the death gaze that Aec'letec has in BG1. That is devastating, though would need to be more high powered to counter the higher saving throws in BG2 in general.
yappie! Wed, 1st May '02, 10:27pm Are you any good at Kit-Making?
I could help you along with those.
Ever heard of the BlackGuard (anti-paladin) I made on of those as a playable class.
Gonzago Wed, 1st May '02, 11:48pm I'd love to see a gith kit + avatar for the pc. Or drow (MR, anyone?). I think it's all wrong that an assassin can get as high as NG, but there you go..
It's extremely difficult to play an evil pc in this game...if for no other reason than you acquire so much more xp for being a goody-goody. (Pairing up the pally and the orphan, for instance, or bringing that kid his bear...god I love that line: "Never! The bear is mine!" Or some such..)
8people Thu, 2nd May '02, 7:43pm How about these kits
Battle-Master - Chaotic only
Knight - LG or LE
Follower of Darkness - Elves who wish to be Drow-like, Evil of course
yappie! Fri, 3rd May '02, 11:16pm Gonzago...may i just point out that a Drow is a race, not a Kit. Also, what would be the point in having wannabe-drow elves, if they want to be drow, couldnt they just walk into the underdark and become them? or commit vile evil acts to prove that they want to be drow.....
hang on..thats what you meant isnt it? duh! silly me.
Buddas Hand Fri, 3rd May '02, 11:36pm Mmmmmmmmm... I will try some of the kits you guys said; but I think there should be Evil quests that are harder but get more EXP. And and sort of Evil Casyomr. Aand Evil mage spells like Soul-Steal or something.
How do you make kits or where can you find out?

yappie! Fri, 3rd May '02, 11:39pm Definetely!! People should get more rewards for playing Evil, as it's a lot harder to play it well.
Edit: Budda, goto www.teambg.com (http://www.teambg.com) (a must know for all SP'ers) you will get everything there. Or just ask me nicely and i could get some Evil aligned kits for you. Look abovce in the post. My blackguard.

corbulo87 Sat, 4th May '02, 1:15pm IIRC, you get a fairly powerful evil-only twohanded sword later on in the game...
Gonzago Sat, 4th May '02, 3:13pm I am of course aware that Drow is a race and not a kit...as is gith, by the bye...but it would be nice to see some race-specific kits with funky innates (gith anti-paladins, for example..)
Zakar Sun, 5th May '02, 1:54am I had a really good Idea for a Kit, but I tried but couldn't make new Kits, they where beyond me unfortunatly. If somebody was willing to help, I have it worked out. Make it available only to lawfull evil characters. (You need to be able to follow the code and disiplin of a ninja, but what you do is evil)
Ninja Assasin (Theif Kit)
Advantages
- Backstabs like an assasin
- +1 to Dex
- Can become master in allowed weapons.
- +15% to Hide in Shadows and Move Silently
Disadvantages
- Must be Human (So we have no 20 dex characters running around)
- Can only use Simitars/Wazishiti/Ninja-To, as well as Daggers and Crossbows.
- Can't Pickpocket, set snares, detect illusion.
- Must wear only leather.
- Crappy Lore (if possible)
- Must be Lawfull Evil
If possible, giving it a Shadow Theif Avatar would be really cool, otherwise stick with either theif or monk Avatar.
If anyone is intrested, I have ideas for A Samouri, A Wu-Tai Boxer (Monk Kit), a Demon Knight, a Pirate (Bard Kit) and a Brawler (Monk like fighter)
yappie! Mon, 6th May '02, 12:31pm I could help with these if you want.
Do you know how to install kits?
I will e-mail them when i've started work on them.
Zakar Tue, 7th May '02, 8:33am I was under the impression that you just unzip them into the override directory, but that could be very wrong.
Bombur Tue, 7th May '02, 10:22am In the "good ol' days" of first edition AD&D, assassins had to be evil. Now I'm getting all misty-eyed and sentimental...
yappie! Tue, 7th May '02, 8:44pm It does say for Baldurs Gate 2, that assassins HAVE to be evil. But my game still lets me be a Neutral Good assassin?
Bombur Tue, 7th May '02, 10:57pm Where does it say that? My manual lists lawful good as the only prohibited alignment.
Errol Sun, 12th May '02, 1:05pm I cannot find my manual, but it's riddled with Errors. I wouldnt know though.
Extremist Sun, 12th May '02, 2:28pm Thieves are prohibited only from Lawful Good alignment and that goes for assassins too. It is stated in the manual clearly. And I'm not sure why you insist on evil assassins. Assassin can use his abilities for either neutral or good causes IMO.
If you ask me Kensai/Mage is the class that doesn't deserve any chance to be of any other alignment but evil.
There is also a certain gith anti-paladin in BG2 (who must be evil) but this class is not available for a player.

Draconis Mon, 13th May '02, 1:24am Extremist what have you got against kensai/mages?? they have to be one of the best characters availble!!! Or do you think that they are to powerfull?? That I understand.
SlimShogun Mon, 13th May '02, 3:25am What he "has against them" (Kensai/Mages) is that they have potential to be sooooo overpowered that they ruin the game. I agree wholeheartedly with him. The same can go for Kensai/Thieves...for a good gaming experience, stay away from them.
Faragon Mon, 13th May '02, 5:28pm For a good gaming experience, stay away from them
How do you know what someone else considers a good gaming experience? Some people like their characters powerfull, some roleplay. Don't make your opinion of a class sound like the rule of having fun with the game, please.
Extremist, why could it be no other than evil? Sure, Kensai/Mages are powerhungry, but is every powerhungry character necessarily evil? No. There are those who seek power to help the helpless (in a roleplayers point of view of course)
For example, Boromir wanted the ring to become more powerfull and defeat Sauron. That doesn't make him evil, for he wanted it to liberate his people. Of course he strayed of the path of righteosness a little, :) but overall he was Good.
Extremist Mon, 13th May '02, 9:43pm I can't agree.
IMHO Boromir is typical Chaotic Neutral.
Faragon Tue, 14th May '02, 9:20am ah, you mean a loony :p
bp Thu, 16th May '02, 1:04am In the LoTR vein, the most powerful evil ones could appear to be good. So I would say any evil character that is magic powerful should have a spell to appear good. You could cast this spell, enter town, and everybody would love you! (Friends spell?)
Also, lying. There ought to be a way to lie, so that you could say one thing, while doing the opposite. Sorta like our politicians.
