Because he's a wimp...a jack ass...a wuss...he's only good when the monsters are picking on others!

Heck no. Apart from his whining he makes a helluva fighter. I had him thru the whole game and at the end he dished out a hefty amount of damage.

True it is...but doesn't his voice and whining get you down? And that Xan bloke...he's even worse! Pity you can't sell the balde for a single gp

i think that you need people like xan and khalid, you need the difference in opinion, if everyone agreed with you then the whole game would be crap and boring. you need heroic people and you need the wussy people, otherwise there would be no diversity in the game.

Is this really something to argue about?

I agree. Go play BG2 and enjoy his corpse found in Irenicus' Dungeon ;)

I know this is probably wrong, but I couldn't resist resurecting this thread because the post above left me LMAO  :rolling: !

[Yes, Syl's a legend, but that's enough of your thread necromancy. -Tal]

I always take him with me, he maybe a whimpy like fighter, but once equiped with shield and sword (or mace or whatsoever), he become's a good addition. (At least to me)

I really didn't resurect this thread to bash Khalid, I like him too, given a little time he can become an ace and a worthy addition to any party. You would have to know Sylvus Moonbow and a litlte of the beginings of Sorcerer's Place. I simply resurected this thread to share a bit of the good ol' days and Syl's legendary wit, he was almost mythological in stature!

Khalid is one of the few pure fighters, meaning he can actually get mastery in weapons, making up for hes mediocre strength score. With strength enhancers he can deal damage like no other. I liked him alot when i played first time, and the only reason i ended up saying good bye to him was i liked the personality of some of the other characters better than Jaheira mostly.

Never liked him. His stats aren't great, he flees when you need him the most, his personality is irritating and frustrating. I took him on board on my first BG1 runthrough and promptly dumped him and Jaheira before we even reached Naskel. Retried with Tutu but unfortunately my tolerance level broke pretty soon in.

Khalid's a loser, when you say to him: "what's the matter...chicken?" he turns all yellow, starts running around and screams: "Better part of valour! Better part of valour!"

Also his strenght's 15 and he's supposed to be a fighter? Please...

He's a halfelf; cut him some slack.

I will agree that he's usually the first one to break morale.

Great player RP-wise, he's to a degree important for my games, anyway I'll have him joining everytime - almost

While we're on the subject of Khalid, I find Jaheira horribly annoying too. And the gamemakers thought we were most likely to complete the game with them in BG2? :p

edit - I just had the best idea. I'm going to play BG2 with Jaheira, JUST to annoy her, and hopefully she'll leave sometime.

Khalid is the ONLY Good-aligned Fighter.

Some like him, some hate him. The best part of BG1 is that there are so many NPCs that you can take who you like.
