Hello my fellow Baldurs gate groupies! well i was just wondering what some of you guys fav side quest were. Example: i have The BG2 start guide *Shock & gasp* i know thats kinda a sin for some of the hardcore players but i think it was usful and i still frown apon people who use things like Ctrl y&r and things that begin with CLUConsol..ect. anywho i was wondering what quest you like most and a little bit about them. so i can try them out. Anywho thanx for your time. * by the way i still cant find a freaken ruby ray scroll*

Ruby Ray of Reversal scroll may be found as random treasure. The container where you will find it not as random is a pool in area AR2210 which is inside Ust Natha (you have to get a certain magic rope, enter some tower, dispose a certain lich and gain so called Lich Tooth to enter here).

As for quests, my favorite is "Haer'Dalis accused and jailed" plot. :evil: :p

I liked protecting Valygar from Tolgerias and doing the Planer Sphere Quest.

The drow city is kinda neat (even though some side quests in it aren't. (No, you don't have to enter the drow city, so it's a sidequest.)

And what's that Haer'Dalis sidequest? I've never met it.

I think my favorite side quest is the quest to hunt down Neb (I believe that's his name) because it links the first Baulder's Gate with the second. (Possible Spoiler) When you find him in the second Baulder's Gate, he has the ghosts of the children around him. Then you free them.

I really like the De'arnise side quest, becuause it's not to hard and there's actually loads of decent stuff, eg the flail of ages and the stuff in the chaple with the golems, but I can't remember what??:spin:

I believe there is no Haer'Dalis sidequest. There might have been planned to be one, with some quest-related items, but the sidequest seemed to be scrapped, so there isn't a Haer'Dalis quest. The one that was thrown away involved a quest where Haer'Dalis was framed for a murder, IIRC.

Any quest that gives me an excuse to go to the Druid's Grove.

Trademeet is really neat, I wish their were more quests in it, and having to do with it.

Definitely the Sahuagin City rebellion. Where else can you fight a bunch of damned seafood and kill the big fish king?(It's a side quest as far as I know, since you can go straight from Spellhold to the Underdark) I also liked the Copper Coronet quests, fighting the guards, helping the gladiators and killing the slavers, but it would have been better if there were a lot more guards.

Agree absolutely on the slavers. Also, if I arrive at night before going into the Copper Coronet I like to whack the guard outside and then hang around near the steps of the ship *spoiler*


at 12 midnight (and 4 am) the slavers escort a slave who cries out for help. The guard pipes up, but is suitably silenced by the clink of gold coins. This is too much for Minsc who takes out the slavers for some minor loot and 5000xp for freeing the slave. Meanwhile the guard has slunk away.

Not a side quest, but I do enjoy the 4 encounters with the cowled wizards when you cast in the street without a licence. The final battle is tough, but very rewarding - picked up spell trigger on two occasions.

I like the quest where you kill Firkrag, if you play on max difficulty he realy packs a punch.

That would be the Jaheira Romance, only way to get Harpers Pin. Also because it gives the PC 100000 XP when finished + it makes the game more real (the other romances do as well, but I find Jaheira the best). Helping a loved one to move on and avenge former comrades (lovers), that really adds some depth to the game. Hope there will be stuff like that in NWN...

I kinda liked the unseeing eye quest. Not only do you recieve a nice reward, you also get the chance to kill an oversized beholder :D

Kinda liked to set the king and the prince of Sahuagin City up to each other. Stitching them both and get all the stuff.

No, there is no way to get it and that's why I've posted it.

I'm unsure if it is deliberatly left out of the game or is just bugged. Check if it exists in Official Strategy Guide.

It doesn't, I have the guide sittin' in front of me, not a thing, I suppose they thought the Planar prison was enough for Haer'Dalis and scrapped it, though the base info is still there...

Right, just as I've thought...

Anyway, if you find anything in that guide that is not "behaving" in the game, do post just as you did with Glaicas problem. I bet there are more bugged things, not just that one. But we'll sort it out, right? ;)
