who is and who is not able read a scroll and sucessfully cast a spell (the red kind, not the green kind) thanks

Mages cast the red (offensive) arcane scrolls. That includes single, dual and multiclass mages as well as sorcerers and Bards. They can be cast from the quick item slot but it is a one shot deal...you lose the scroll. Alternatively they can be memorized to the characters spell book and used throughout the game without needing another scroll....it's all in the manual btw.

Can anyone use an ID item scroll?
I seem to recall anyone in my party being able to pick the "scroll" option when trying to ID an item if they had a scroll in their backpack.

Technically they shouldn't be able to, and I don't remember that ever happening, but I could be wrong.
