First of all, what does this have to do with BG2? Second of all, that made absolutly no sense. Hopefully the moderator will delete this topic.

Download Shadowkeeper and do both, moron. Err... I mean... friend.
If that's not what you want, go see Dr. Kevorkian. He gives a great makeover.

What does renameing and changing skin color have to do with anything?

Besides, plastic surgery doesn't have anything to do with skin color. Well, maby you could skin someone and put their body in someone elses skin that is a different color but that might hurt.

what i was talking about is that it would probably be easyer in the game to simpley call youself something else (which you cant do) than change your whole skin and hair colour (which you can do)

For multiplayer, export your character and then import him/her back in. When you do this you have the option of changing names. For singleplayer use Shadow Keeper.

This has something to do with the things you get in the game. In same letters etc, your name is mentioned. For rhe name they used the name you have in the beginning of the game. When you change your name, your old name will remain in letters etc. That's why it's possible to change appearance but not the name. Like in real life, a name sais more about someone then appearance. A name is the name of your character, and appearance has nothing to do with your character, how you are.

Hmm, thing is you might want to adopt a pseudonym as you advance. For example level one characters can hardly lay claim to grandiose epithets most heroes have "the Great", "Destroyer" etc. But once Bob has progressed from Candlekeep dogsbody to hero of the sword coast he might want to ditch the name his parents gave him for something a bit more interesting, with the word "Mighty" in it. But of course, the name affects all sorts of technical things in the game like these letters Headbanger mentioned, and appearance doesn't.
