View Full Version : Keldorn Bug? the assassin Sun, 9th Sep '01, 9:35pm Sometimes when Keldorn goes Melee, when he gets hit, he casts Fireshield (blue), and causes the cowled wizards to join in. Does this happen to anyone else? Extremist Sun, 9th Sep '01, 9:41pm It does. That means - no Keldorn in Athkatla. At least not with his sword of Roses equipped. That sword turns damage back to hostiles - and it is considered magic. Now magic on Athkatla streets is not allowed, ok? [EDIT] Sorry, Namuras is right. Doh! That happens because I always kill that guy and can't remember what is his default weapon... Sorry again. But it is his default sword that fires back (was it 5 damage) that is considered magic. [This message has been edited by Extremist (edited September 09, 2001).] Namuras Sun, 9th Sep '01, 9:47pm It hasn't happened to me, but I think I have the explanation: Keldorn's sword, the Hallowed Redeemer, gives him a special version of the fireshield. The solution to your problem is 1) to pay for the magic license or 2) to give him another weapon. Edit: Extremist, the Blade of Roses is a longsword. You should be able to get lilarcor before getting keldorn anyway. Spudsquisher Tue, 11th Sep '01, 4:14pm umm.. just going with the topic here.. has anyone else noticed that you can give keldorn the harp of dischord? even though it is a bards only wepon Taluntain Tue, 11th Sep '01, 10:56pm Yes... Just one of the myriad bugs. Spudsquisher Wed, 12th Sep '01, 3:31pm umm, why did they release the game with so many bugs? it doesn't seem right. If you are handing in coursework you don't let it have bugs, you make sure it is perfect. They were making tons of money with this game, yet still let it escape with bugs... oh god i am ranting!! sorry if it looks like that but i think it is a valid point zantetsuken Wed, 12th Sep '01, 3:56pm Nobody's perfect, I guess. That probably goes with games tooo... :) Anyways, that why patches are here for. Thomas Covenant Wed, 12th Sep '01, 4:44pm Why just not make sure you don't get attacked by Cowled Wizards, and be able to keep on casting spells w/o them messing with you. You can buy permission, or you can, like me (Ima bad boy) kill those that show up on 2nd casting and they'll stop bugging you. There is quite easy way to kill wizards, if you're playing with party of 6 and have thief with trap abbility with you. [SORT OF SPOILER WARNING][MAYBE WALKTHROUGH WARNING :)] . .. ... .... ..... ...... ....... ........ Easy way to get rid of Wizards attacking you when you cast magic is to provoke them by casting 2 times. You get warned 1st time (yea yea), and they attack you on 2nd time. One easy way to kill them, w/o using any spells or potions, is to go to bridge district (that's where I decided to deal with wizards after I got slaughtered by vampires night before, and couldn't even cast haste), and there is a house in south-west part of map, it's locked. I assume that you'd have party around lv 10, and thief in it. Tactic is simple: Take your thief and place traps close to where your casting wizard/sorcerer stands (in front of door of the house). I managed to place 2 snares succesfully. Than move thief in shadows away from rest of party, make him/her hide (just in case have invis potions/ring of invis on you, AND cloack of non-detection). Take your mage and cast knock to unlock the door, than pause, mark 5 fighters and make them enter that house. Your thief will be outside invisible and wizards will start dialouge and than go hostile. At that point, as 3 more arrived my snares start doing some mad damage: 20,10,15, getting one or two to injured. Wizards threw their defensive spells, I stayed in shadows and my snares kept doing damage. They'll keep on casting true-sight but you have cloack of non-detection and they cant' see you. So I just sat out and waited for their def-magics to ware out, and my snares killed 3 of them 4. $$$. Exp is around 17k, and you have 500 gold (behind trapped picture on wall in house) and 3 potions on shelf in house too(1 invis potion, and 2 extra healing). Than you charge out of house with your 5 ppl (after last wizards def spell wore out, leaving him with stone skin only) and kill him too. They wont bother you again and you get to cast magic all you want. Pfft to you if you knew all this already and made me type it for nothing :) Nobleman Wed, 12th Sep '01, 6:44pm In my experience they come more than once to attack. The next day or so. |
