First it's Balron, can't quite kill him yet, then it's the damn Elder Beholder with the Imprisonment spell.

By the way with Imprisonment spell,is there anyway to get the charecter back or are they lost.

Yes, with the Freedom spell or scroll (as long as it's not you that's Imprisoned).

For some reason elder orbs don't cast Imprisonment any time soon after they see you and you should have some time before they actually get to that spell. I didn't have Freedom spell / scroll with me in the beholder "city" in the Underdark, and i didn't know that you can buy these scrolls from deep gnomes settlement, so i ended up applying the "hit-and-run" tactics where Minsc was doing all the work (well, Cloak of Mirrors was doing most of the work anyway :)). I would have Minsc run to the groups of beholders, elder Orbs and gauths and take out one or two, then run away and come back from a different direction, repeat until all ugly eye tyrants are dead.

Another spell that they use successfully when you've got Cloak of Mirrors is the good ol' Hold spell. Now, an interesting thing - beholders actually cast Dispel magic every now and then that actually "un-holds" you, gauths don't use dispel magic spell (not sure about elder orbs). So if you're against a mixed group of beholders and gauths, it makes sense to get rid of the latter first, because if they successfully Hold you, then beholders dispel that pretty soon for you. If you get rid of beholders first, and gauths hold you, that might require bringing in another member of your party to dispel that, thus exposing him/her to the gauths and their spells.

Anyway, for the elder orb, I believe that it has to be near you to cast imprisonment. I remembered being imprisonmented by it, then I reloaded the game and kept a distance from it while using ranged weapons. It only kept chasing one of my character until it was killed(must be targeting my character with imprisonment). Anyway, it's "cause serious wound" spell" was ranged but for a cleric, it should be a melee touch spell.
