well playing bgII:SoA for the 4th time and still dont know where to find some of those kick ass spells to compleet having a well writin spell book.. currently missing the following:

lvl 8:
Improved Mantle
Power Word Blind
Symbol, Death
Symbol, Fear
Symbol, Stun

lvl 7:
Control Undead
Mantle
Morden Kains Sword
Summon Dijin

lvl 4:
Contagion (never ever seen this one yet it seems to be noted on sevral sites)
Ice Storm (thanks to starwalker)

lvl 3:
Inv 10 radius

Any leads to where i could find this would be greatly apriated (i just hope im not to late just exited the underdark)

Ice Storm is a must have spell for me. Speak to the person just inside the front door of the thieves guild on the lower level and you can buy up to three copies of the ice storm spell scroll.

Don't worry about Mantle or improved Mantle. PFMW is lower level. And it's better. You'll find Mordenkainen's Sword in the underdark, if I remember correctly. Symbol death, fear, and Stun are sold by the lady in the rear left corner of Ribald's store. Don't worry about summon Djinn or Control Undead. They're worthless, too. Invis 10' radius is all over the place. You'll find it soon enough.

I just compleeted the underdark none of the mercants or encounters hold Mordenkainen's Sword (cleared all 3 races and done all the side quests there are..)

i know not all of them are that great but i find it a sport to get them all also.. it just seems that some are more rare then i thougth

Aces you been very very helpfull indeed im just having trouble find the "PP in trademeet" could you or anyone else for that fact explain me who you mean :D

and on a side note i did get symbol of fear doh i think it was a random drop..

Control Undead can also be gotten during the Unseeing Eye quest. On the second level, there's a trapped container on what the game describes as a 'screaming mouth'. You'll find some nice gems and spell scrolls.

Mordy's Sword I usually find on the Gith at the Five Flagons during Jan Jansen's quest, running a mission for the Hidden One.

Err AFAIK it is Hold Undead spell in the UEye quest Kuemper.

Anyway, don't forget that some monsters drop valuable RANDOM scrolls as loots too!

I looted Mantle, Mordy, ABDHW scrolls from Skeleton Warrirors! They rock! They have a big chance to carry a HIGH level spell scroll!

Yup, a lot of those rare scrolls can be acquired from random drops. I think I have been able to get each of those spells before at least once between all the runs through the game.

What I like to do sometimes is leave the Unseeing Eye quest unfinished. There's that bridge that asks a riddle and spawns skeleton warriors when you answer incorrectly. Then you can keep killing them for their random loot (no experience though) until you are satisfied.

PP = pick-pocket

I got a Mordenkainen's Sword spell by pickpocketing someone in Trademeet. One of the guards I think. Pickpocket everybody. You get some wild stuff sometimes. Everything from strength = 24 potions to level 8 spells.
