View Full Version : Pre-ordered! The Fat Egg Mon, 21st Aug '00, 12:18am I've pre-ordered BG2 Special Edition! Yes! Dark Phoenyx Mon, 21st Aug '00, 1:39am Everyone should, or at least put a down-payment at their local store, cuz the game will sell out the instant it hits the shelves. Voltric Thu, 31st Aug '00, 5:18pm Eggman, I order BG2 so long ago they didn't have the collector Edition out yet. I just went and re-order the upgrade, but I'm a little unclear - Do you get 1 or 2 bonus CDs and what is on them exactly? The interpay site info was vage. Da Punisher Thu, 31st Aug '00, 5:44pm You'll get 2 discs according to the bgchronicles site (look at bgchronicles.com, under 29th august. So there's where to look ;) The Fat Egg Fri, 1st Sep '00, 1:13am You get 2 cd's, its signed, you get the table-top game, and you get the music cd. Wingfoot Sat, 2nd Sep '00, 2:13am well Egg seeing as i dont have a credit card, i get to miss out on this fine marketing scheme, but i hear that all the "Extras" will be avalible on variuos websites to download for free, so i am not going to worry about it. Taluntain Sat, 2nd Sep '00, 3:07pm You shouldn't worry. Collector's edition or any other "specials" are a scam (trust me, I know from experience). It's not worth the extra money you pay for... And you can be sure I'll have all the "extra" stuff here on the site sooner or later, so again, no worries. And especially not worth it if you live somewhere that USA or UK has to ship overseas to... you'll pay AT LEAST twice as much for the game, postage and very possibly tax and customs too... The only real benefit of any collector's edition is that you get it very soon after (or possibly before) it actually ships nationwide. But then again, this only applies if you live in USA, UK or any other major country that has their own special editions. Simon Sun, 3rd Sep '00, 1:14am 58 dollars for shipping alone, that is indeed more than the cost of the game itself... *shudder* I hope the extras will be downloadable: those tunes must be mine! Da Punisher Sun, 3rd Sep '00, 8:03pm Of course, if you do'nt order it, you won't have the soundtrack (Not that I care, but some may), and you won't get that map wich is included, and that one might be interesting, but of course, $10,- more just for a map..??!! Naaaaah, I'll just wait for the "normal edition", of course I have to wait till october at least (Don't you ever move to Europe people!!!! ;) Wizard_IV Sat, 9th Sep '00, 11:31pm I ordered from Ebworld.com and when I go to the order tracking it sais it cant find my account. But when I go to the account it finds it fine. Is ebworld.com relaible? The Fat Egg Sun, 10th Sep '00, 12:15am Very much so. BBworld is one of the best, the best! Lord Balduran Sun, 17th Sep '00, 4:10am You know if you pre-order from one of the chains (like EB or Gamestop, not sure who else), you will get a bonus disc with 1 new character and about 10 "powerful items". I got the Collectors Edition, just because I like to get a lot of materials with my games :D Maps, manuals, artwork, music, bring it on! I can't wait! The Fat Egg Sun, 17th Sep '00, 8:41pm It just arrived! I signed for it and everything! YES! I won't start posting about though until someone else gets it aswell. Wingfoot Sun, 17th Sep '00, 8:53pm yeah Egg, you the man! Voltric Mon, 18th Sep '00, 4:08pm Eggman, How in hell did you get BG2 yesterday? I pre-ordered from Interplay directly in the middle of July. According to their site orders have not shipped yet. Who do you know? Where did you order from? I love the info so I can order and get things early as well. Thanks. Sylvus Moonbow Mon, 18th Sep '00, 5:38pm Uh...umm...err... I got my copy as well... :) ;) :) Sylvus The Fat Egg Mon, 18th Sep '00, 10:40pm Express delivery through ebworld.com., quite an awesome site. And I know a lot of people. ;) [This message has been edited by The Fat Egg (edited September 18, 2000).] Wizard_IV Wed, 20th Sep '00, 4:52am Are they shipping the original? Sylvus Moonbow Wed, 20th Sep '00, 1:32pm I just got an e-mail this morning from the distributors who are sending out Baldur's Gate 2 for Interplay (as I ordered my copy from Interplay.com). Now here is where I pull all my hair out: "The order you placed is currently out of stock and your credit card has NOT BEEN BILLED. You will be notified via e-mail when we receive more copies, where in your credit card will then be charged when the product is shipped." Or along those lines anyhow. I knew it. I KNEW IT! Pre-order online to beat the stores around my house. Now I'll be buying it before my pre-order arrives because there is no way I'm going to sit around waiting for it. Just BS. Pre-ordering CGI scripts should be bloody well based on stock and they shouldn't accept your order unless they have a product to ship to you. Sylvus Voltric Wed, 20th Sep '00, 7:38pm First off I don't understand how Interplay can ship to other sellers (ebworld) and not to the people that ordered directly from them. Interplay still has not shipped my copy and when I Emailed them about it today they said "the game will be released on the 26th and your order will be shipped then." But on ebworld website it said that the game would ship tomorrow. And some poeple already have the game. Sylvus you just said you got it in your earlier post. Where did you get it? Did you order two copies (one from Interplay)?? [This message has been edited by Voltric (edited September 20, 2000).] Sylvus Moonbow Wed, 20th Sep '00, 8:27pm Nah, that was throwing a friendly pun to the yoke man ;) Hehe. Just kidding Fat Egg! I still have yet to receive it but I can tell you this, if I see it on the shelves tomorrow or Friday and my pre-order hasn't shipped yet, I'm buying it. I'll sell my pre-order or maybe have a contest here, the winner will receive BG2 for free, I'll even cover the shipping cost. ;) Sylvus |
