View Full Version : Who was the man behind it all?
Jaguar Mon, 1st Dec '03, 12:51pm Everyone remember Kalah from Aerie's Circus tent? He said that he was helped by someone and promised greatness. But he never did tell who it was. I might have just missed a string, but I would like to know if anyone knows.
And also, I know there were otheres that were helped or spurred on my unmentioned evils, but names I cannot recall. So feel free to put them in to try to find any common roots.
icelus Mon, 1st Dec '03, 6:32pm An answer to this question should be answered with the next version of Unfinished Business. :)
Alavin Mon, 1st Dec '03, 7:52pm Along the same lines, does anyone know who the "stronger" is that TorGal mentions in the Keep? Or the "Mr F" that the two thugs in the slums refer to (Bregg and Cohrvale, I think they are)?
Barmy Army Mon, 1st Dec '03, 8:33pm I always assumed that by "Mr F" they were referring to Firkraag (sp?).
The "stronger" I whittled down to either the Roenalls (sp? - thought I have trouble convincing myself on this one) or Firkraag again. It seems his style. Create a problem for a keep, then cure the problem and assume control over it. Would he have cleared the keep himself had you not intervened do you think?
Just guesses though ^_^
Rastor Mon, 1st Dec '03, 11:04pm The Stronger referred to by Firkraag is the Roenalls. They knew that they got complete control of the keep (through the betrothal agreement with Nalia) if everyone died. Therefore, they wanted to make it look as though monsters were responsible for the downfall of the D'Arnise.
Ishmael Tue, 2nd Dec '03, 1:26am Also, Torgall said that he was paid in Land. Assuming that he didn't mean the de'Arnise keep, The Roenalls are also large landholders.
The Silver Bear Tue, 2nd Dec '03, 1:39am There are more things hidden than we may think. I remember of a passage in the dialog with Shangalar that he said something about the Slavers in the city and also a talk with Sion (Guarded Compound) when there was an option in the dialog that gave me the chance to say something like: "I came to destroy you, slaver!"...nothing like that, just the meaning, ok?
So...someone has the answers to these ones???
Scythesong Immortal Tue, 2nd Dec '03, 9:40am @The Silver Bear
These were supposed to be parts of a Nalia sidequest that was abandoned before it was completely finished.
It connects the Guarded Compound, the Twisted Rune, the Skinner Quests, the Trademeet Skindancer Quest, The Silver Dragon Blood Quest, and some Slaver Quests IIRC.

Mystra's Chosen Tue, 2nd Dec '03, 6:40pm David Gaider is an employee of BioWare that got really involved in BG2 after it was released. He made the Acencsion mod and a couple others. He frequents forums and has told people that there were tons of unfinished additions (Slaver's, Minsc quest, The Hidden, etc.) that were never implemented due to time contraints.
Jaguar Tue, 2nd Dec '03, 10:16pm Are there mods that allow all of these unfinished quests (see above) to be used? I mean, Minsc is cool now. Add a quest and he gets practicaly three dimensional. And I f there was more to do in the game, It might be more challanging.
And on a side note, in the gaurded complex in the Temple District there are little flasks which lead me to believ that it was meant for some quest? Anybody know?
Sir Ai Rayzor Tue, 2nd Dec '03, 10:22pm And on a side note, in the gaurded complex in the Temple District there are little flasks which lead me to believ that it was meant for some quest? Anybody know? Are they called "Empty Potion Bottles" ??
I think I have them (or had IIRC).
Jaguar Tue, 2nd Dec '03, 11:57pm Well, what are they for?
icelus Wed, 3rd Dec '03, 1:48am It has never been proven that the "stronger" to which Tor'Gal refers is the Roenall family. There are many theories, and no solid proof has been found to deny or confirm any claims.
And, yes, there is a mod that restores some of these quests. It is called Unfinished Business. The mod site is here: http://home.houston.rr.com/icelus/ub/
and the forum is here: http://forums.fwstudios.net/index.php?showforum=110
Much has been discussed on the forum, including everyone discussed in this thread. Minsc's quest is available in the current release.
