Dual as in two, wielding as in using

Use of two weapons at the same time - swords, daggers, hamsters whatever...

Dualwielding is when you place a weapon in your shield slot, on the inventory screen, in addition to the weapon you already have equipped.

Amongs having twice the damage to dish out, you get extra attacks per round etc etc.

Question: Can any class/kit dualwield a 2 handed sword? That would be so cool. :rolling:

Of course not. No race has more than two hands, and you'd need at least three hands to dual wield with a two-handed sword.

If you were an Ogre you could... but wait, I see no Ogre racial choice... so, guess you cant :p:p:rolleyes:

No but a two handed sword is a one handed wepon for them because they are large... in anycase this is more of a 2nd/3rd edition forum problem. Go there and ask if you have questions aboug how this works in P&P D&D.

You also can't dual wield with any missile weapons.
This is fair enough with two handed weapons (like a bow), but IMO you should be able to dual wield with items like throwing daggers and throwing axes.

They write it off to the fact that throwing a weapon requires more balance, and holding another weapon/sheild/whatever in the off hand will throw you off.

And yes a Ogre can dual weild greatswords because they are of large size, and so is the Ogre. In effect to an Ogre a greatsword is the equivilent to a long sword to a human. A one handed weapon.

To go into more detail would be in 2e/3e rules which the ones I would be refering to arent implemented into BGII so no reason to speak of them.
