This might not qualify as a forumstarter, but anyhow: 1 MAJOR advantage in soloing is that not only do you get all XP for your self, you also get a 10% bonus on ALL XP earned. The text will say that your party gained, for instance, 10 000 XP, but you actually got 11 000!

I have no idea! I havenīt played AD&D except in computergames, so I donīt know if itīs something thatīs included in the original rules, or just a carrot(thatīs how we put it in Sweden) for soloing in the computergame. Rather nice though!!

The 10% exp. bonus is actually there whether you're in MP or SP. It is based on the characters ability scores.
If your Prime requisite is 16 or higher than you receive the +10% exp. For thieves the score is dex, str for fighters, etc..

In the book of AD&D, it says: Paladins get 10% extra XP, for they do what is good, well, I made up that last.
Were you a Paladin?
I do know, that my character reached level 19 earlier than Minsc reached his level 17, so maybe all players get it...

i think that you get more exp for the reason that you are the protaginist.......i was a sorceror with 15 int and i still got a bonus (note the prime requisite)

i'm not sure about bg2 but i think that the person in the "leader's" spot gets the most XP, it does in IWD anyway

Paladins get 10% extra experience if their Strength is 16 or above... just like other fighters. This according to 2E rules.
This is the first I've heard of it being implemented in BG. Seems a little strange since virtually everyone has above 16 in their prime requisite. Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?
