View Full Version : Thief trainers! Divine Shadow Fri, 26th Jan '01, 10:22pm Who should I speak to if I wan't to spend my weapon profiency points? Taluntain Sat, 27th Jan '01, 10:15am Try the guy on the fence in Ragpicker's Square. (Guarding the thief chief there). Another one is Eli Havelock, currently missing from the Civic Festhall, but can be found outside the Brothel of Slating Intelectual Lusts, also in Clerk's Ward. Annah should be able to show you a few tricks too. ;) [This message has been edited by Taluntain (edited January 27, 2001).] Divine Shadow Sat, 27th Jan '01, 9:24pm Crap! As neither Annah nor Ratbone can teach me about weapons does that mean I have to wait untill I get to CLERKS WARD?!!! Any suggestions about the best weapon choices and where they can be found? Taluntain Sat, 27th Jan '01, 11:46pm Oh, I thought you wanted thief trainers as you wrote in the topic... As in, trainers that would enhance your thieving skills... Figher trainers then. There is one in the small area where you witness the Lim-Lim madness. (You enter Ragpickers' from there). He's a bit weird and talks strange, so you can't really miss him. He says he won't fight when someone attacks him, that should jog your memory if you came across him. That's the only one I can remember off hand that isn't in either of the Wards. You should make your way there ASAP, since there is one more trainer in Lower Ward and in Clerk's Ward. Taluntain Sat, 27th Jan '01, 11:49pm As for weapons... Take your pick. There are plenty of all kinds in the game. Personal fav is either hammer or axe, or both. There are also some nice clubs... Heck, there are nice items of all kinds really. You can get a pretty spiffy hammer early, as soon as Lady of Pain mazes you. Refer to some of the walkthrus on the site on how to achieve that. Divine Shadow Sun, 28th Jan '01, 7:45pm No I just wan't to spend my weapon profiency points so I can begin bashing someone with my decapitated arm. The pacifist-warrior says I am not a warrior so he can not train me. Does that mean I can't spend profiency points as a thief? Taluntain Sun, 28th Jan '01, 7:54pm I suppose not. As a thief, you aren't supposed to have more than one prof. point in anything anyway... If you want be doing serious damage rather than picking locks and pickpocketing people I suggest you revert back to the warrior class... Divine Shadow Mon, 29th Jan '01, 7:11pm Well whatever...with 21 dex and 19 strength I hit very hard and backstabs real good. I just don't understand why they put those thief weapons in the game if you can't spend profiency points on them! herf Thu, 1st Feb '01, 6:44pm well one time when i played i had five proficinecy points in fist anf our in all the others, i was a thief using umai kahein, all my stats were 25, my ac was -16, i had over 430 ability points THAT I COULDNT SPEND because all my stats were at 25 and all my theif abilities were either 125 or 127, my mage book was full and my thaco was brilliant, -20 or sumthin like that.
