PLEASE SUPPORT SORCERER'S PLACE BY BUYING FROM OUR NEW SHOP!

A blog primarily for SP Happenings, with occasional guest appearances by other distractions. SPH is an ongoing journal, posted on a semi-frequent schedule. As the title suggests, its primary function is to detail what has been going on around Sorcerer's Place since the last journal entry, though sometimes other themes are discussed as well. Comments welcome!

SP Happenings #193

Posted Fri, 10th Apr '09 at 2:02am by Taluntain

Before all of you with pitchforks make it up the hill and start banging on the tower doors, the next content update is coming! Really! Any day now! (I'm shooting for before the end of the week.)

Since the last SPH entry Montresor's excellent Planescape: Torment online walkthrough has gone up, so definitely check it out if you haven't yet.

I've mostly been doing various maintenance tasks around SP, like updating our blog software, installing a Really Big Blog Button That No One Can Miss (now people can only complain that blogs are TOO visible), fixing the latest active threads display on the front page for good (thanks catbert!), adding more games to our arcade (thanks BTA) and a few other minor updates/fixes.

Azereki has recently joined our (skeleton) news crew and quickly advanced in ranks to the Head News Editor position - no mean feat. So our news coverage is definitely much improved with the extra hands on deck, and Urithrand has hinted that he might get back on the job as well. Not bad at all!

Last, but not least, Sorcerer's Shop has opened its doors a few days ago. The linked thread tells the story in detail. And yes, the FREE SPS account special is still on...

Speaking of really big buttons...I just had a thought.

Make a popup window that has a vector based version of the button that resizes to take up the entire screen!

By the way, how come this page looks so much cooler than my blog page?

Because I customized it a bit... blog styling has been an option for quite some time now. It works similarly as profile styling.

Check your Blog Control Panel (the BCP links block on the left side) where you'll see the option to Customize Blog Style, among others.

If you've already got a nicely styled profile, you can just scroll to the bottom of that page and hit the "Copy Profile CSS" button, which will apply your profile style to your blog as well. Lazy FTW!

A situation with a couple of our hosted sites has held me up a bit today, so the content update planned for this evening will most likely happen tomorrow.

OK; content-wise the update is finished and partly uploaded. I'm just going to wrap up the notes and the remaining uploads later today, at which point the content update will go live.
