Today, I came across an article talking about the Periodic Table - which in Bulgarian is known as Mendeleev's Table, after this guy - who, in addition of being credited with the invention of one of the most useful tools in introductory chemistry, was also in charge of adopting a universal standard for the quality of Russian vodka.
So if you are a man or woman of science, or just like to get properly boozed and not have to worry about in how many pieces your head will be the morning after, raise a glass in the memory of good old Dmitri!
