Eighth Dimension: #49 A Beautiful Sword

Posted Sun, 25th Oct '09 at 2:49pm by 8people (8 Tales)

I got one of my presents a bit early, it's a LARP sword, and it's absolutely stunning. It's a little over 42" long and in the style of Hadhafang from LotR. It has a leather handle and golden ivy vines along the blade, it's weighted beautifully and very slender so I can grip it easily and it looks more elven. It will suit Seh'riina perfectly and I can't wait to practice with it.

Because we know the people who made it really well they also sent some goodies along with it. Two darts,...

Tale of a Yorkshireman?

Posted Sun, 25th Oct '09 at 10:29am by Montresor

I saw this article in one of our local newspapers, the Berlingske Tidende, which I just had to copy here.

Link (in Danish).

Quote:
The Information Wall was also torn down

20 years ago most of us used a typewriter and spoke into a telephone with a wire. In 1989 a technological revolution began that would tear down a wide range of barriers.

Eighth Dimension: #48 Family meal

Posted Sat, 24th Oct '09 at 2:47pm by 8people (8 Tales)

Going out tonight for a meal for my birthday, Kev is visiting and we're going to Ringwood to stay round my parents for the night and we're going into town to meet up with Grandma and Grandad Ken for a nice meal. I know Kev is a little apprehensive as he has not met my grandparents before and describing my grandmother as a sweeter, calmer version of my mother was not that comforting I'd usually refer to her as more innocent as well but there's something about seeing this gentle, older lady...

Marks of Chaos: #7 The Fun Things In Life Are Either Immoral, Illegal or Fattening.

Posted Fri, 23rd Oct '09 at 2:16pm by 8people (8 Tales)

And goddamnit if painting Warhammer is fattening I'm screwed.

After multilating a few elves to see what their pretty, fleshy, squishy skin should look like I decided to move onto an army where I can really let myself go. As I want no two models in this army to look the same. At all. Sure pose is limited in many, generally the metal models, but the colour schemes are different for each one, there are themes for 'touched' models, not ones with a Mark of Chaos to any deity, but perhaps...

Disco Inferno

Posted Thu, 22nd Oct '09 at 4:47pm by Caradhras

I've been listening to old disco music and it leaves me with a real sadness when I think about it. Don't get me wrong, it's great fun and any party gets rolling once you get these good old songs to play.

Still, I wish I had been around in the 70s instead of being a toddler...

I really feel that my generation was late for the party and missed all the fun. All we had was techno ***** and dance crap. At least disco was fun.

All that is left for us to do...
