Been playing an 8th edition warhammer campaign round a friends, I'm using my dark elves and have written a list for fun. Not very effective, but there you are.

I've been trying out both Witch Elves and Executioners, only small units so far, it's a 1,500 game at the moment so only just added a couple of five man squads to see what they do when they get into battle.

They're actually impressive even when in tiny units.

Been trying to paint up my Dark Elves as with the new edition of Fantasy they're going to be my primary army to get used to it all with.

However I've got a bit old school in the way I'm basing them

The dreaded Goblin Green.

Personally it doesn't seem like that big a deal, paint them green, add some decorative stone and grass, then get mocked heinously for being stuck in the mid nineties when it comes to the choice of colour.

Wanting to get more into my Dark Elves, I've never really had much chance to play with them but looking forward to using them more in the new edition of Warhammer. I'm basing my army around a Sorceress of each lore they can take, perhaps a bit cruel, but still... Also each of them will have a different set of items they will draw from in a battle and a different mount specific to them. For example Saurneth I used in one of my Fluff War entries, she's a Sorceress who focuses on Chamon - the Lore...

Had an odd dream last night. Think it stems from the affect I want to achieve I'm not sure if it will work.

Only one way to find out!

I want all my beasts to have a dark, almost ethereal cast to them - I want them look shadowy and arcane.

I want my scaled creatures to look scaley greeny though, so I want to try a little something.

Sometimes when you drybrush a certain way paint will only hit one side of the embossed edges (the scales) so...

Have dug out my Witch Elves and Harpies and sat looking at them with a kind of

expression... because painting swathes of skin typically sucks and probably one of the reasons Slaanesh converted armies are not as popular

In essence I think finding a perfect skin tone is going to be a royal pain in the ass and may require me to get some test subjects from somewhere just to alleviate my frustration of making various attempts on models supposed to go in the army and regretting a midtone a few...
