Tides of the Inevitable Swarm: #8 O'Mally

Posted Tue, 2nd Nov '10 at 1:00pm by 8people (8 Tales)

So I started building my forgeworld Malanthrope.

I'm going to have too much fun with this project.

You see, in the hobby Forgeworld is a sacred company that provides resin crack for the masses at high prices for high quality, special rules and a higher level of quality.

I have one of these magnificent beasts. It's larger than any of the models in the normal range for Tyranids, bigger than the Trygon/Mawloc, Hive Tyrant - the lot.

I nearly...

Tides of the Inevitable Swarm: #7 Nacho

Posted Tue, 12th Jan '10 at 2:51pm by 8people (8 Tales)

So I got lucky and got a Mawloc early, I have assembled him in a stunning little dancy pose and started painting him yesterday, he has a lot of red on him! I did the red undercoat and the bright lights and half of his body edge colouring. I just have to do the other half and the fringe shading. Then I paint the spots, the eyes and apply 'ardcoat. Then paint the body

I called him Nacho because he looks like he's doing a salsa dance

Will get pics soon!

Tides of the Inevitable Swarm: #6 I may make my own gargoyles...

Posted Tue, 20th Oct '09 at 2:11pm by 8people (8 Tales)

My Ladynids have wings made from Terrys' Chocolate Orange plastic casings, the ones inside the cardboard... They're on sale at the moment at both where Kev lives and where I live. I probably have enough cases around about now to convert all my termagants into gargoyles! My poor teeth... Also eating a TCO like an apple is not as hard as some people try to make out. Just make sure the bloody thing hasn't been put in the freezer. I'm looking forward to seeing the plastic trygon and really, really,...

Tides of the Inevitable Swarm: #5 The Ultimate In Om Nom

Posted Tue, 29th Sep '09 at 5:45pm by 8people (8 Tales)

So I have my Malanthrope, with his little squiddy head and pointy fingers...

Am going to have LUDICROUS amounts of fun painting him... assembling however? Erk!

Will have to pester the boyfriend to help me assemble him methinks...

Am thinking I will be using a lot of red ink on his bulgy bits, Malathropes consume all the remaining people and plants around in an area, they are an HQ choice for a sweep up squad essentally when the swarm has already destroyed...

Tides of the Inevitable Swarm: #5 Shiny!

Posted Tue, 18th Aug '09 at 5:52pm by 8people (8 Tales)

Saw a Forgeworld Trygon the other day... Rawr.

If I was a Norn Queen I'd totally hit it.

It has got a bit of a hunchy back, but still, it's one damn hot model. Will have to save up and Ladynid it up methinks.

Would look fabulous!
