Cane and Able: #21 A Miracle?

Posted Wed, 12th Jan '11 at 6:27pm by 8people (8 Tales)

I don't believe this has been brought up on SP before... but perhaps if it sparks interest the Alley might be a place to pop it.

Personally? I think this is fantastic. Perhaps not for the most obvious reasons.

For one, I have seen several families torn apart by misunderstanding, tragedy within the family and being financially, mentally and...

Cane and Able: #20 Standards

Posted Sat, 8th Jan '11 at 6:24pm by 8people (8 Tales)

It appears the Pain Clinic local to me has exceptional standards for allowing in the riff raff. I made an appointment in November for February (There are waiting lists for these exclusive clinics beyond reasonable) and it appears yesterday they sent a letter to inform me that I do not meet their criteria!

I'm sorry, but a clinic set up to deal with LONG TERM PAIN MANAGEMENT is rejecting someone who has had painful dislocations since she was nine months old and been on prescription...

Cane and Able: #19 Winter Warmth

Posted Tue, 21st Dec '10 at 10:43am by 8people (8 Tales)

The government makes payments if the weather is below a certain temperature for seven consecutive days for the elderly and disabled over winter.

That's nice of them.

Cane and Able: #18 Getting On My Nerves!

Posted Fri, 17th Dec '10 at 10:34am by 8people (8 Tales)

To the uninitiated this means: My nerves hurt.

Neuropathic pain is caused by damage on the nerves, deficiencies in certain vitamins, repetative injury, toxins, diabetes, infections, conditions that affect the immune system, nerve affecting diseases such as herpes and shingles and even a possibility of genetic inheritance.

Neuropathy often starts innocently, it certainly did in me! Just a...

Cane and Able: #17 Two Thousand Pounds

Posted Thu, 16th Dec '10 at 9:27pm by 8people (8 Tales)

I found a programme online called 'Dore' it's for neurodiverse conditions (Aspergers, ADHD, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia) It's a series of excersizes to do to increase cerebellum activity. The 'Little Brain' is primarily involved in motor control and major cognitive functions (attention span, linguistic development, etc)

The programme claimes to be less than £5 a day, yet in the FAQ the full cost is listed as £2,034 for six to eighteen months paid in installments or £1,925 if paid in one...
