Hey! My previous choices of gaming peripherals were plagued by Logitech fanboyism and lust for gimmicks and I intend to make more informed decisions in the future. As such, I'm interested in hearing your opinions on the stuff you've used as well as hints regarding the features to look for or avoid.

I'll go first.

Logitech G5 (Mouse)
-Greatly favors the palm grip and is pretty comfortable.
-Lousy scrolling. The wheel tends to skip.
-The tilt wheel can be bound to shift/alt/ctrl/whatever. More on that later.

Logitech G9 (My current mouse)
-Less comfortable tilt wheel usage. The wheel is recessed.
-Not as comfortable as the G5.
-Better suited for the claw grip.
-The rubber ends up peeling off the mouse.

Logitech G3 (My sister's mouse)
-Side buttons on both sides. The one on the right side is both useless and very uncomfortable. (I use the ring finger and pinky only for gripping. Having to avoid pressing that button is a pain.)

Logitech G15 (Keyboard)
-I've used the G keys very little.
-The LCD screen is mostly useless as an extension of the game UI.

Razer Exactmat (Mousepad)
-The only gaming mousepad I ever owned, so I can't really make any comments on it. All I can say is that it's way better than using household objects.

And now for the (heavily subjective) conclusions:

Mice
-Apart from the buttons, everything should be coated in rubber. Otherwise, sweaty palms make the gaming experience truly horrible. Rubber that peels off is a big no-no.
-Thumb buttons are always nice.
-I haven't seen any noticeable difference when increasing the DPI or polling rate. I think paying some extra cash just to shave one millisecond off your reaction time is ridiculous. Human reaction time and network latency are too big for it to make any difference. Switching the DPI on the fly can be useful, though.
-I don't think wireless mice are worth it. Having a cord has never been a nuisance for me and I'd hate to be bugged by batteries running low or interference from other devices.
-The tilt wheel can be used to increase the number of usable key binds. It's nearly impossible to press ctrl+7 or ctrl+7 while also moving using WASD. Binding the tilt wheel to ctrl and alt has really helped me back when I was a WoW player.

Keyboards
-The media keys are great if you like to listen to music while playing.
-LCD displays are merely a gimmick. I ended up using my display to look at the time and to see if I had received e-mail.
-The line-shaped enter key seems to be the best, because keyboards that have it also have a large backspace key.
-Back lighting is almost a necessity if you work or play in the dark.

Gamepads
-The only thing that really annoys me are square shaped analog stick holes. It's hard not to go diagonally with those.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts and/or suggestions.

Version 16 of Sword Coast Stratagems has been released. SCS is primarily a tactical mod for Tutu and Baldur's Gate Trilogy. The idea is to make the game rather more tactically challenging, rather than just making it harder by brute-force methods like tripling all the damage rolls. It also contains a few rule tweaks and ease-of-use features. v16 includes a new Russian translation and fixes a nasty bug that crept into v15.

The Gibberlings Three

Sword Coast Stratagems II is a collection of mini-mods for Baldur's Gate II, affecting both Shadows of Amn and the Throne of Bhaal extension. Like its Tutu predecessor, SCS II is mostly a tactics mod, intended to make the combats in the game more challenging and interesting. Overall, playing SCS II shouldn't exactly feel like a whole new game - it should feel like the old game, but with your foes acting much more intelligently and realistically. Version 15 of SCS II adds a new Russian translation and fixes a nasty bug that crept into the previous version.

I've just had an argument with a friend about HK-47.
Given that KOTOR seems to be partly based in the same D20 system of Wizards of the Coast that D&D 3.X is based in, it wouldn't be that difficult to bring someone (or is it something) like HK-47 into a D&D world.

The question is, as a droid, would HK-47's alignment be true neutral since like an animal he doesn't have the mental ability to have a moral compass, or since he's a droid bound to obey the commands given to him pretty much to the letter and all that, would he be lawful?

Given how amoral and bloodthirsty he is, would he be evil or again, as a more or less unfeeling droid would he be neutral?

I myself am leaning towards lawful neutral since I recall mechanis and the way the Lawful Neutral beings there could hunt down anyone.

Hi! First of all, sorry for posting a topic that is probably discussed a lot in here, but I wasn't able to find any help specific to my problem.

I have BG2 with ToB installed, still on the SoA part at the moment. I had to re-install the game and kept the saves from the old game, but the second time around, I installed the G3 Tweak Pack.

Something somewhere went terribly wrong and I lost the Jaheira romance (as in, she's not talking to me when she should - I tried all the conditions etc). I tried a bunch of console commands to no obvious effect and now I feel I screwed it up even more.

So, is there a console command I could use, to completely reset the romance?

I want to be able to erase all the wrongs I may have done and start over. Then possibly speed things up (running out the timer) with a different command, so I don't have to wait so long to get back to where I left off.

Sorry if this is a n00b request, but I'm really lost - most sites/forums offer only bits of information, or too much information about scripts and stuff that I don't really understand.

Major thanks to anyone who may be able to answer me here!

I'm looking for a recommendation for a new series to start and my last two (Shannara and Elminster) didn't get very many positive reactions. I figure it may be easier to just ask for recommendations. The following are authors that I already read and enjoy.

Jordan
Sanderson
Feist
Farland
Goodkind
Drake
Williams- although I only read his memory sorry and thorn series
George RR Martin- Edited in.
J.V. Jones- Edited in

I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them now. I'll have to edit later.
