Well, it's still over a month away, but I've finally got things in order and reserved my tickets to Germany for the class reunion. It's already been five years since we graduated... for some reason, I feel quite dissatisfied with what has happened since then.

I guess it reminds me of how different things are from what I had hoped they would be. Well, I have a job that pays well for the BG standards, which means I can pay off my student loan, co-rent a flat, and have some funds left...

Today, I came across an article talking about the Periodic Table - which in Bulgarian is known as Mendeleev's Table, after this guy - who, in addition of being credited with the invention of one of the most useful tools in introductory chemistry, was also in charge of adopting a universal standard for the quality of Russian vodka.

So if you are a man or woman of science, or just like to get properly boozed and not have to worry about in how many pieces your head will be the morning...

Apparently the idea of maintaining a daily blog has, at least for now, died an ignoble death. However, I will still try to keep it up when I can - and when I find something curious enough to motivate me to spend a few minutes writing.

Here is your factoid for today - apparently you can use the word "action" as a verb, and the phrase "please action this" is not necessarily a sign that the man in front of you needs a refresher course in English.

I guess I missed a day. Anyway... apparently there is such a thing as awards for best porn movie, given by the AVN academy and often called "the porn Oscars." It's amazing how unlike porn stars some of those people look in official dresses or suit and ties...

Oh, and one more, just for the missed day: Warhammer 40k fans have a reason to rejoice. The Grey Knights were confirmed for April.

I had long thought that the saying about a philosopher not being able to endure a toothache (and thus being no more resistant to the "mundane" problems than others) originated in ancient Greece. Apparently it came from Shakespeare: "For there was never yet philosopher,That could endure the toothache patiently," Much Ado About Nothing Act 5, scene 1, 31–38
