I've had a good run with gaming in recent weeks/months. I managed to complete all of the following:
    NWN2
    NWN2 - MotB
    NWN2 - SoZ
    BG + TotSC

I'm currently in chapter 5 of BG2 + ToB. I'm not posting as much lately, as my "free" computer time is focused mainly on gaming. I haven't had this enjoyable of a gaming run in quite a long time. It's rather refreshing.

Just got Dead Island for the PC. BEST. GAME. EVER!!!! Some of the controls are a little weird, like having to rock the mouse to force doors, but otherwise it's pretty darn awesome.

    Replaying System Shock2 with DDFix
(+ few mods that bring things graphically up to date)

Amazing that this old classic still manages to give me the chills. Amazing atmospheric!

Just started playing Rage for an hour or two. It seems OK - I can see it getting boring quickly though. I heard it was like Fallout, which would be good, but it's more like Borderlands, which is bad.

I have been playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution for a while now. Great game. I would have liked a bit more side quests though.

My char hit level 75 (level-cap) in LotRO this morning, when I was playing a bit during breakfast. I have to say, the Isengart expansion is very nicely done, the epic quest line is really good, well told, with good and loving attention to setting and detail. Well done. It's still somewhat buggy, but it doesn't take anything from the enjoyment.

So now I will go though the paces and get myself decent equipment and weapons (Thorog, 12er skirmish, school, library - here I come! ;) ), and level some of my other chars. I'm in no hurry. I didn't even want to reach the level cap so soon, but I just couldn't help it. There are still plenty of quests left.

My recommendation: When you're playing that game, especially when you're doing it for the first time, explore new areas while doing the epic quest lines. They will introduce you to the area, and are both rewarding and entertaining. You get good equipment, too, so it's sensible to do them when you're on the respective level. I didn't do that and I somewhat lament that I had to throw away good equipment that would have come in handy ten levels ago.

I am officially hooked on Titan Quest.

In related news, Steam is having a Halloween sale. Downloaded Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and Left 4 Dead 2. God only knows when I'll actually get around to playing them.

    I've been kicking around....

Unreal Tournament 2004 (when I want something short on time but high octane)

    Total War: Barbarian Invasion

    Civilization 4: Beyond the Sword

I haven't thought about pushing further in DA:O recently but maybe I'll reconsider it (I have an elf warrior I want to see running around with a battle axe).

Recently I had a flash back of the National Security Decision Making game.

It was fun and not necessarily predictable (it is played with real humans rather than a computer). Though last time I regretted not getting a war going between China and N. Korea I'll learn from that.

The people who run it both know a lot about what they talk about and have a sense of humor.

Here are some of the quotes they saved:

    http://www.nsdmg.org/quotes.htm

U.S. President to Iranian President after yet another face-off involving speedboats attacking tankers in the Hormuz Strait:

"Unlike you I have a real navy, and I’m not afraid to use it."

(Secular) Iranian Pres on sharing power with (clerical) Rahbar:

"For every proposal there is an equal and obstinate refusal."

Advice from an experienced Russian player to a new player:

"If you see one of the other ministers embezzling, don’t try it yourself. The media always catches the second guy."

The PRC Foreign Minister complaining to his counterpart in Moscow that the Russian President is trigger-happy:

PRC FM: If your blood-crazed President came to you out of the clear blue sky without any provocation whatsoever and told you to nuke us flat for no reason, what would you do?
Russian FM: Before or after I nuked you flat?

U.S. President, asking the cabinet to come up with “bells and whistles” to help him “sell” the Policy & Budget to Congress:

"I have the bread, I just need the baloney."

PRC Controller to Game Director, reporting that the PRC PolitBuro members were slowly coming to the realization that they’d put the wrong guy in charge of The Button:

"They had that “Silence of the Lambs” look."

Chief of the Russian General Staff explaining at the game de-brief why, when ordered to conduct a single nuclear burst in a remote Iranian desert to demonstrate Russia’s resolve during a regional crisis, he dropped 839 warheads and leveled the entire country:

"It turns out that if you want to deviate from the existing Iranian war plan, you have to tell the Military Controller or he squeezes the trigger until the magazine’s empty.
I didn’t mind wiping out Iran, but media blew the whole thing out of proportion and that pretty much killed my shot at the Presidency."

Just finished Batman: Arkham City. Great game. Loved every minute of it.

Now I am thinking of Deus Ex or Dead Space 1-2

Although I still making my way methodically through Cloakwood with my crew, my birthday present was finally getting Icewind Dale!!!!

So glad I stopped playing free-to play games and picked up the classics. I'm not looking back, nor am I missing the online drama.

Been playing a bit of Fallout New Vegas on my xbox and it's pretty awesome. Just got a new laptop today though and I'll finally be able to play the Witcher (my desktop is pretty old so it's pretty much devoted to IE games and their mods :D )

Rags, do you have to buy the expansion to play at all, or can you do without it and just keep to the "old" zones? I just migrated my account and the loader disconnects.

Anyway, I'm playing Shogun 2 now. This is seriously addictive stuff.

I just finished with Uncharted 3. It was nice, but Drake's adventures just were not that exciting anymore.

Batman: Arkham City is up next, as soon as it gets released.

Finished Arkham City. I recomend it highly. Right now I am playing...nothing at all. I don`t want to start something new since I will be getting Skyrim this week. Most likely I will be playing Skyrim religiously for several months.

No gaming for me for the last month or so. Too much going on. I plan to go back to my BG2 game at some point, but I wouldn't be surprised if I go for another month or so like this.

Working a lot. Still busy with my little guy (7 months), not to mention my two older boys, and the wife. Also have a pretty major home remodel that I'm planning, and since I've never done anything like this before, I'm really doing a lot of homework to get up to speed so that it all gets done right, and I don't get ripped off. Fun and frustrating at the same. Oh, and refinancing my home too, for good measure. It's a very good time to do so in the US, if you're fortunate enough not to be underwater.

Hopefully I'll be able to calm down a little later in the month and complete my BG2 runthrough. Even though it's not my usual style game, I'm pretty tempted to give Skyrim a go. Hoping I'll see Third Age Total War 3.0 out by Christmas. That's one Medieval 2 Total War conversion that is simply looking amazing.

I am invited to be an Old Republic beta tester. I'm curious. Except for that, LotRO all the way :)

We will see. Hopefully it's not as buggy as some people say. Whatever, I am curious ^^
