No crafting whatsoever

I have a strange problem/bug: all the crafting seems to be disabled even if I have the required skills.

I tried to craft a rapier, the mold says 1 ingot and a I used 1 iron ingot. The crafting skill should be a plain 5 and Khelgar has 8 or 9. Nothing appened.

The same is appening with alchemy: Qara is not even able to distill a bladeling piece (skill required 4) to obtain an essence.

In both cases, when I try to do something the following message appears twice "XYZ has used the unique power of the object" and nothing else happens.

The game is fully patched no MOTB is installed.

Has someone heard of similar problems ?

Are you sure you put the rapier mold + ingot in the blacksmith workbench? I did that mistake once, made me furious.

For distilling, you just have the item in your inventory and use a mortal and pestle on the item in question.

Usualloy it is a problem when MotB is installed and unpatched, but that is not your case.

Do you have any mods or a no-cd crack installed?

I've seen people reporting the same problem with those installed on the official forums.

@spet: pretty sure since I tried several times and the suspicious fact is that alchemy is not working too

@I.S. no mod but a no-cd exe (got at gamecopyworld). I found also a couple of people on official forum with this problem but in that cases the answers were all about the pathcing order when you install motb. still there was no final answer. apert from very few graphic glitches I got no bug at all... well apart from this one

Well first of all, your no-cd crack is illegal, and you will probably find that nobody on any board or forum, and certainly not the official forum, who will give support or help you with that crack present.

Second of all, remove it from your game and crafting will be probably be fine.

There has been a couple of posters on the official forum who admitted they used such a crack, and their crafting problem was solved when they removed it.
