Vanatar will rise again
|
Last night I was creating a party replicating the Heroes from Salvatore's IWD books. The obvious charcters are Drizzt, Bruenor, Wulfgar, Regis & Cattie-Brie. But who to add as the 6th character? Cadderly didn't sound right. Did they travel at any time with a cleric?

Jarlaxle would be interesting. What about Thibbledworf Pwent or Pikel Bouldershoulder?

Pikel is a Druid type and I would need a healer. Hmm??? Possible. Thibbledwarf would be great, but that would leave me with no healing! I don't think Jarlaxle would fit the theme, I'm looking for heroes only, not scoundrels. I thought there was a little gnome or dwarf cleric, but I just can't remember where? Possibly a friend of Dove's from the Sojourn novel?

Are you talking about Drizzt's old gnome companion? I recall him being a fighter and never casting any spells. Now that I think about it, Cadderly and Pikel are the only divine casters in the novels I ever recall seeing. Looks like you aren't left with many options. Also if you keep up with the novels, Cattie-Brie is practicing magic now. That would justify multi-classing her, keeping the rp aspect but bringing much-needed magic to the party

Maybe adding Artemis for the sake of it.
Or add one of the random Chars that Drizzt met on his journey. Depending at what point in time you want the group to be, novel wise. Or you can omit the 6th. |

Yes, I was thinking something like Fig4/WizX for Cattie-Brie. Fig4/Barb1/RgrX for Drizzit. FigX for Bruenor. BarbX for Wulfgar. RogX for Regis. I might just add Pwent as a Fig4/BarbX and call it a day. |

Speaking of Drizzt; anyone knows what levels/stats he's supposed to have after his Neverwinter Night Books?
The ones I found are older. |

4th Edition is a mess.
I saw some 4th edition Conversions for Drizzt. Some make sense and some don't. But all in all they suck. |

4th ed turned the entire drow race into Drizzt clones. Ranger is their favored class now...

On one hand, I can sorta see why they'd do that, but instead, couldn't they just add a line that "Good aligned Drow may use Ranger as their favored class instead." while leaving it so that female drow normally have Clerics as their favored class and males fighter (or was it wizard, I forgot. I only have 2nd edition books and Drow were NOT a player character race.)
