I just finished assembling a cat post that reaches from floor to roof. I can hardly wait for it to be put into use.

ARRRGH My neighbor really really loves his lawnmower, he uses the bloody thing every week ! I mean c'mon grass doesn't grow that fast (does it? I really don't know). The way my parent's place is made the living room's window is next(ish) to his backyard. All I'm trying to do is watch tv* while I search jobs on my laptop. But noooooo I can't hear a goddamn thing 'cause of his obnoxiously loud mower.

*y'know what, I'm gonna miss that 46" HD TV when I finally get a job and find my own place, mind you I've already persuaded my dad to give me his older 22" HD TV for my (hypothetical) place, which will be fine really but... y'know

Hate to say it, but your neighbour apparently knows what is best for his lawn. During the summer it's best to mow your grass every week. The short cut off pieces absorb the direct sunlight and feed the lawn. Some people mow their lawn from may 'till november.

You're gonna love that, right?

We have a nice sea / maritime climate here. No dry season, no hot summers or cold winters. But quite humid (as you might know Holland has quite some rivers and coast lines.

I guess mowing the lawn is influenced by that.

Imagine living here next to someone mowing his lawn each weak for half a year.

Reading some websites about lawn mowing. Man, didn't know horticulture is that diffucult. Grass shouldn't be wet when your mowing, nor too dry. It shouldn't be too long etc etc.

Of course I'm talking about normal grass, not "the Dutch" that people use to "pass".

A fire ban? So no more burgers on the grill, Dice? We have plenty of water here. Seems like we love the stuff. Switzerland, Germany, France and Belgium all send their water to us! How sweet.

It's 1.51am and I'm in a hospital bed after an emergency Caesarian section. Adam was born at 1954, 8 weeks early and weighing 2lbs 12oz

On a somewhat related note, I've never understood why a woman would elect to have a cesarean if it weren't necessary. Isn't the aftermath of major abdominal surgery worse than a natural birth? Anyone have experience with both?

'grats Sil. Mrs. dmc had both of the little dmc's by C-section. My son was 10 pounds 5 ounces and his head was bigger than 10 centimeters (yes, I know I am mixing measuring systems), so he wasn't coming out naturally.

My daughter was 10 days early and 9 pounds 14 ounces. Conceivably (ooh, nice pun dmc) could have been natural, but with the earlier C-section, the doctor advised another to be safe. Mrs. dmc recovered much better the second time around. The first time was just brutal.

Best wishes for you and Adam Sil. When you are able, upload some pictures here for those of us who have boycotted Face Book since day 1.

If you haven't played any MI before, you have had too much self control! I had a blast with MI 1-3, my favorite games. I didn't like the 3d games, though (4 and later). Tell Murray I'm still not able to find socks that match.
