Well now i too have my doubts Minsc sounded a bit Russian to me too

I mean Yoshimo looks and sounds Japanese, but that is only because Kara-Tur is essentially Faerun's version of Japan/asia. It's not meant to be an 'easter egg'.

Yeah, it was simply to add to the diversity, and stuff.
Would be dull as hell if some NPC is supposed to hail from the other side of the FR but sounds like ever other slob in Baldur's Gate.

And the Slavic or non rather non american accents are the ones that stick out the most i guess.

Yoshimo doesn't just sound Japanese, he actually speaks Japanese.

"Yokatta" means good. "So desu ne" is roughly "Is that so?"
