For example Imoen has 7 levels thief and 8 levels mage with a 16 Con. How did they come up with 57 HP?

    I am a 6/6 Cleric/Mage with a 16 Con and I only have 48 HPs?

    Cleric gets a d8
    Mage gets a d4
    Thief gets a d6

Correct? Why do I have so many less HPs than Imoen? My Cleric should out match her Thief even being 1 level behind? What am I figuring wrong here?

DOH! NM I just realized Imo is DUAL class not MULTI.

Multiclasses have all their HP gain halved (including the CON bonus). AFAIK, the result is then rounded up. This goes on until 9th level (for each class), after level 9 dedicated caster classes get 1 HP per level, rogues and combat caster classes (like druids, clerics) get 2 HP per level, and warrior classes get 3 HP per level.

In the case of your cleric/mage:
    Cleric HP gain = (8 max HP per level + 2 from 16 Con)/2 x 6 levels = 30.
    Mage HP gain = (4 max HP per level + 2 from 16 Con)/2 x 6 levels = 18.
    30+18 = 48 total HP.
