I'm surprised nobody has said yet that all these visual options are necessary because they would add to immersion.

    Well, isn't that self-evident?

In any case I agree with that statement. :)
Of course you do. As near as I can tell, if somebody wants it, it probably adds to immersion. :)

You know what would really add immersion? Having to go to the bathroom. Especially if it worked in tandem with the food system. That there would be consequences for just eating bread and cheese.

Dubbing in lots of grunting a straining noises would definately add to the realism.
    Ooo! Excellent idea!

What about traveling in real time? Now THAT would be real immersion!

    Cliches: To Avoid Or Embrace?
For starters, I will happily say (again) that there are no prophecies to be found anywhere in the DA story. You are not the Chosen One in any way, shape or form.

and don't work so hard to make sure that you can end da with,

"and they all lived happily ever after..."
The good thing about having our own IP is not having a mandate to return to the status quo by the end of the game. For me, Dragon Age means never having to say you're sorry. :D

    Low Magic

i say, if DA is a world with less magic (i am no idiot who uses idiotic terms like low magic) the spells have to be powerfull, so a mage stands a chance against a fighter. and if the world has lots of magic the fighter must have a chance against a mage. so no one has the edge over the other.
So, what are you saying? Magic in DA should be defined by its usefulness in PvP combat?

    Low Magic

look, in bg2 the biggest thread were mages. meleers (??) were easy compared to a equally stuffed mage. i want all be equal.
Equal in what way? I can see how one wouldn't want a harder time completing the game as a magic-using PC vs. a melee PC... but that's not the same thing as saying that magic must be very strong and there must be lots of defensive spells. This is a party-based game, after all... the measure of a magical character's utility is not just in how easily he can defeat a melee character and vice-versa.

    Useless abilities and spells?
But the other writers pick my brain all the time...
