A Fallout 2 question

Discussion in 'Fallout Series' started by Zaragoth, Jan 15, 2002.

Well, it's like this. I've been playing the "evil way" for some time now and I'm to finish the powerplant quest for Gecko and Vault City. I tried blowing the damn thing up and then run back to VC, but I can't get the option to speak with anyone about gecko, and therefor I can't get to become a citizen. Why?

IIRC you can't become "the citizen" just by Lynette - and that means no citizenship with nuking up (or down) the plant. The narcissistic bi*ch just uses people for her aims...

The only way for you now is to have hyperintelligence and take a test for citizenship. How to get that you say? Why don't you try to pickpocket Lynette...

But watch out - if you got sixth toe, no citizenship because of mutie paranoia in VC. You'll have to remove that nasty addition before taking the test... If of course you have it "grown".

Extremist: You are the RPG Deity!

I always wondered what the point of the sixth toe was, and never found out in the 1.25 trillion walkthroughs I've read.

Doesn't make me like the game more than FO1, though...

[IMG] Hehe, now you can't remove that toe anywhere...

You must find the right doctor to perform the "ultimate" operation...
But, that's a major spoiler, don't you think?

Ok, just a lil' clue - you must repair something before... No, not the plant.

    Closer than you would think.

Anyway, another Fallout 2 question. Has anybody tried using the toe on the Big End Boss? What happens when you do? And do the scores you get after you finish the game vary?

Nothing happens if you use your toe on the boss. What is that, a joke?

And yes, almost all of the results vary at the end depending quests and actions you made in the game. The same is with Arcanum.

If you do it right, you can actually run into the Vault in Vault City! Don't click far ahead of you move in little jumps and you'll get by the guards.

[IMG] No Extremist. It isn't a joke. Let me explain to you.

    First, finish the game.
    Next, go to New Reno.
Then, talk to any hooker in the street.
After that, keep talking to her until you get your score, which should be upon 200 (I got 198)

IIRC she'll mention something like this, "Your end-game score is 198/200. You should have used the toe on the end boss." That is why I'm asking you people.

[IMG] Haha, I remember that one...
It is a joke - that's 1. The score she mentions is ALWAYS the same, hehe...

But there are few REAL easter eggs when you finish the game.
In New Reno check the porn filmmakers - and make a biographic movie.
Also in New Reno go to the priest - check the name of the book he gives you and read it, then check your record screen. ;)
Then go to Vault City. Suddenly Lynette is no more mutiephobic as she was before.
Then in the Vault City Vault use search option on Medical Terminals many, many times - and you'll get the clue what to do next...
Anyway, I loved all of those!

[IMG] Ah, I see... that was what my original question is about, is the score you get different. Now I know ;). You can also have a chat with one of the boys in the 'booze' family (can't remember the name). I've done all the things that you said before and I enjoyed it :D.

Ever notice how FO2 is a million times harder than part 1. I was shocked in 1 when i had bout 10 differetn guns and like 10,000 caps at any time.

Yeah, you get a gun right off the bat in FO1. It is a lot harder, especially with the some of the random encounters, like with Enclave Soldiers or Aliens.

Actually one time I managed to run strait from Arroyo at the beginning of the game to San Fransico without getting myself killed.
