[IMG] Well, if this isn’t a reason to sleep on a hard wooden floor, I don’t know what is.

    From here

Note: I got to this site from a link on msn, so I don’t want to see any smart-ass comments on the 50-plus part. :p

Well that's just plain disgusting! My pillow would never do that to me, not my precious Maple Leafs pillow! Nooooo!

Cover you stuff in vinyl?!? Yeah right!

20-50 percent is a pretty big gap. Methinks they are talking out of their asses, methinks.

Just get a synthetic pillow, problem solved. There are millions of dustmites in pillows, mattresses, etc. I had to have all of my bedding and mattress replaced because I've suddenly developed an allergy to dustmites. Damn buggers.

Having been diagnosed as being allergic to dust and dust mites (both the European and American varieties -- who knew?), my doctor told me that they were in the sheets, the pillows, the air, the carpet, etc. He suggested that the sheets and bedding be cleaned at least once a week (already done) and that I get an air purifier (also done). Those things and the daily Nasonex I am taking have the allergies completely under control. For now.

I actually have a horrid allergy to dustmites, but haven't bothered more than usual. *sigh*

Seeing as I feel horrid all of the time, it wouldn't help at all. I think.

    *sneeze*

'tis a flu! Nothing more! *groan*

I'm über allergic to dust-mites, and to think of all the precautions I've taken to keep them away from me...

    All 0 of them.

Amazing how many people here are allergic to dust mites!

Just throw the pillow in the freezer, that usually kills them all.

I prefer to just not think about stuff like that, or you'd turn into a clean freak

That's not just dust mites, but the dead skin they feed on and their droppings as well (it's the dust mites' do-dos that make you sneeze).

The pillows that we use in our house are currently extremely manky (it doesn't help that both my children and myself suffer from nosebleeds) and new pillows are a priority item when I get some cash.

It will be an interesting experiment to weigh the pillows when I've bought them and then do it again after six months.

Solution: clean at least once a week and brush the pillows and blankets every day (that's why there are balconies ;) )

Having to change all of my sheets and bedding every week is more than enough bother. You can't believe how quickly weeks seem to pass when you have to do something so annoying every week.

[IMG] Sounds worse than being allergic to iron.

Dust mites only live for about 3 hours (or something like that, my friend told me it was 30 seconds, but I hardly believe that.)

*Comfs everyone who's allergic to dust mites*
