I began a romp through Fallout not long before I bought IWD 2 because I was bored. I got about halfway through before I picked up IWD 2. Obviously I put that on hold. Haven't played Fallout in years since I started this recent game. It's been so long that I forgot how awesome it is. I plan on finishing the game I started while I debate my next IWD 2 party to use. That shouldn't take too long, which brings me to my first question. I'm curious, what's the quickest time (real time and/or game time) that any of you folks have beat the game. It is rather short, but still a damn good game.

On to my next question. I never played Fallout 2 but I've thought about picking it up sometime in the near future. I've read some pretty positive articles on various websites about it. Just interested in what others from this board think about the sequel.

The sequel was excellent. If you enjoyed the first, pick it up. You should be able to get it cheap.

Yeah fallout rocks both of em

Fallout 2 is bigger and hasn't lost any of the appeal of the first one, you should definatly get that one!

    Hmmmm.

The gameplay of FO2 is very good. You can control what armour your NPC's wear, and to a decent amount, their combat stance (offensive, defense, sniping). There's a car you can use to fly around the map; and a trunk to store things. There's like, a 50 level cap. Which means you get to choose a whole bunch more perks.

As far as the story goes, I'll just say that FO1's storyline is considerably better, and let it go at that.

As far as FO1, I think you can beat the game within a month (gametime). Probably about 6 hours real time. There's two ways to go; Raider's-Junktown-Hub, or Raider's-Necropolis-The Glow.

Yeah I've checked some stores around town and I can probably pick it up for around 20 bucks or so. Only problem is I've only seen it in a bundle sold with Fallout. Well I'll have to do some research on that.

Also I've read that the storyline isn't as interesting as the first, but I'd have to play it to find that out for myself. More NPC control is very appealing to me. The lack of it in Fallout is kind of annoying but I can deal with that. I did not know about the high level cap, must have missed that. That's sweet!!!

Thanks for the input, I think you guys sold me on this one.

The level gap of 50 is IMHO quite useless. I've never been more than about level 25 when I finished the game.
