[IMG] I won't go into details because I don't want to spoil any of Fallout 3 (which is AWESOME btw), but I made an awesome shot with my sniper rifle against an opposing sniper during the Wasteland Survival Guide quest. I must have been 1000 yards from an elevated sniper, and got a head shot critical hit!!! The bad guy, named after a US State, dropped 3 stories from where I hit him!

When I finally made it up to where his body was, the head was missing, and I found both eyeballs on the 3rd floor perch where I took him out! I love my sniper rifle!!!

He's an important main quest NPC. Sucks to be you.

Well, you can just spend 500 caps to do that quest the other way.

I know the guy you're talking about. I did likewise. I love my sniper rifle, but it's even better when sneaking. Sneak headshot on a Supermutant Master = headless Supermutant Master!

State man is a main quest NPC? So why does a central optional quest require you to go somewhere where he'll confront you with lethal force?

NOG i doubt he is very important, as i do not remember running into him, and have completet the main quest, although i have most likely taken a different path than you, he does not appear to break the game

Yeah, I beat the game a little while ago and nothing ever seemed to indicate he was important at all. I suppose If you're trying to be a non-violent goody-two-shoes, he may be 'manditory' in relation to Paradise Falls, but you could always just kill the bad guys. In an evil file, you don't even have to do anything, you can just choose a [KARMA] option in dialogue and they know all about you.
