Ever wish your character would just die, only to give you an excuse to create another one?

Some people suffer from this very serious problem. You may be aware of a neighbor, co-worker, or possibly even your very own best friend that fall under this dark addiction.. of creating characters. Too bad they couldn't do that for a living, rather they are reject from living a normal life. It is as if they have a death with or something. Yes, I too suffer from this horrible addiction. I admit it, I love character generation. Is that so wrong!!?

To me that sounds like something of a theme for Neverwinter Nights...
I wonder how many chars we'll have to fry there before settling for one we'll stick with.

A lot depends on the campaign. If the DM is good almost any characher can come alive and be enjoyable. It's true that some PC I've had more fun with than other but you should figure things out about your PC before you start.

In NWN I think all play 'starter' but just to get use to the rules. After I do this in single player mode my real PC will come out for Multiplayer.

Man, I'm really looking forward to NWN.. Especially for Multiplayer. It's been a long time since I've played a really good LAN game. I wonder how well multiplayer in Pools of Radiance will play.

If your character that you're currently running in D&D (pen and paper or BG2) died, what character would you play?

[IMG] One would-be ALFA player had her first 40(!)characters lined up. Then she decided she couldn't wait for them all to die so she became an ADM so she could play them all simultaneously as NPCs. A kind of extreem case!

I don't know, I'm kind of too cautious of a player and always prepare for the future. I rarely want to change characters.

Halfling ranger? You wouldn't last 5 seconds in the party my friends have going right now... They sacked a whole halfling casino with hired merceneries and catapults and all just because one of the short folk looked at them funny.

I tend to grow attached to my characters but I also know a guy (in one of my gaming groups) who always wants a new, bigger, badder character...

There is a love / hate relationship here (at least for me).

Creating a character can be wonderful. A clean sheet of paper, untapped potential, wondering what the new campaign will bring.

On the down side, an orc can wipe the streets with your butt.

Developing an existing character can be better, but only if you have a good DM. If he/she isn't as creative as you, or if they are being 1/2 hearted in development.
