    Well, part of that is the fact that Sterling really is a complete scumbag. Always has been. Without going into details, I have more than the average Los Angeles person's awareness of his ways. This is deserved.

    Plus, those people who worry about the detriment of this mob mentality can console themselves in the likely 10,000% increase in value over what he paid for the franchise, also considering the his initial investment has been returned over and over for decades. I wish I could be harmed like that . . . .

    It's because of scenarios like this that I'm glad I live in Canada. We have laws that specifically prohibit discrimination-enabling situations such as this.

    So, Splunge, if an employee of a company says things that cause the company's clients to go elsewhere, your laws say that the company cannot fire that employee, even if it means that the company will fail because it will no longer have customers?

    That makes sense . . . somewhere I'm sure.

    Oops! I completely misread your post - I thought you were saying it would be OK to fire someone who is fat if a client threatened to take its business elsewhere because they don't like fat people. You were, of course, saying it would be OK to fire someone who made a comment about a "fat chick" if a client threatened to leave because of that comment; I believe in Canada that would be OK, although you might need to jump through some hoops to do it.
